Over the last week I have had audio dropouts on the HT, while watching the TV. My wife reset the cable box and each time it came back on. A couple nights ago I had it happen and had to reset the Sherbourn 7020 to get my audio back. (I am running optical for my audio from the cable box to the 7020). Yesterday I was changing channels and the 7020 dropped the audio. Yes the mute is not on ..lol, I reset everything and still no audio. I then verified all my audio inputs and nothing. I reset the 7020 to factory defaults and still nothing. I brought up test tones to verify both my amps are working and still no sound out of any channel. The 7020 powers up with no faults switches etc and appears 100% working just no sound. I guess I will call tech support in the morning. I really have been extremely happy with the 7020 up to this point. Unfortunately I bought this during the closeout sale. Hopefully Emo will work with me some on this.
Oh and by the way audio from the TV just downright S%$&ks !!! LOL

I had same problem with a brand new SR-120, it was replaced by another brand new one as Sherbourn could not find the problem to fix it. I sold the new one on ebay and the guy who bought it was happy with it for about 3 m then he had the same problem you described. Seems to be some flaw in the design. Good luck and pelase keep posting on the outcome. I currently use a PT 7020 as pre amp.

I shipped my PT 7020 to the mothership on wed and Friday was going to call and see if they had received it and before I could call I got an email from them stating that they had received it and the expected turn around time was 5-15 business days. I have to say that getting the email and my earlier call in the week has shown me that this is a top notch customer oriented repair service. In the 2 years I have dealt with Emotiva, I have been totally impressed with the staff and their professionalism. Now we sit and wait !! Man I miss my HT !!

Mine just decided the other day that it would no longer accept signal from the remote control, from either the IR in on the back or from the face of the unit with either a harmony or the factory remote. Sigh.

I have had nothing but problems with my unit. I upgraded the firmware two weeks ago. I still have handshake issues and audio dropouts. This is the worst purchase I've ever made on my HT equipment. I'm looking for new processors now. I don't think this unit can be fixed.......

I did not use HDMI from my cable box though because of fear of handshake issue, I ran optical from the cable box to the 7020, once in awhile my Blu-ray player and the 7020 would have a handshake issue but I would restart the Blu-ray and it would sink up. I love the 7020. Sorry to hear you have issues with yours.

The oppo is the only item that is having all the issues. 60% of my usage is watching Blu-rays the other 40% is Apple TV to watch Hulu or Netflix. I don't have a cable box or anything like that. When it works I enjoy the sound quality. As handshake issues and audio dropouts happen when watching Blu-rays I want to throw it out on the street. We actually stopped trying to watch a movie the other night and just went to bed

On another note - I don't think this product is compatible with DTS HD, I can guarantee an audio dropout within seconds of starting a movie with this type of soundtrack.

Got an email yesterday, that my PT 7020 is fixed and on its way !! Pretty excited !! All the email said was that they reflashed firmware. I will call Monday and see if there were any hardware issues, if none then it's a little concerning as to what caused it to corrupt or dump the firmware just out of the blue.

There were no Hardware issues, just firmware, kind of concerned this may happen again, wait and see now.

My PT 7020A suddenly had similar symptoms as the original poster: no audio output (except via direct inputs), video OK, buttons (remote and front panel) slow to respond, volume changes "hitchy", etc.
The problem seems to have been resolved by reflashing the firmwares, both DSP and "Sherbourn".
