Check this gal out, Tulle Brae Hugged on her neck last night and she sang up a storm at The Little Walter Music Festival.
Ya'll missed one heck of a show. I'll list the lineup later, I still need some rest.

I don't think I have seen anyone mention Folk singer Amber Rubarth yet. I just got the Chesky recording of "sessions from the 17th ward", and must say that it is as natural and transparent as any recording I have ever heard. It is right up there with the Rebecca Pidgeon stuff -- or better!

Billie Holiday and Nina Simone from yesteryear.
Check out Angus and Julia Stone for some amazing vocals. Then there's Eva Cassidy, Whitney Houston, Stevie Nicks and Rebecca Pidgeon. Lara Fabian is very underrated too IMHO.

Shawn Colvin Stevie Nicks Suzanne Vega Sade Barbara Higbee Enya Halestorm Joni Mitchell Laura Nero Carole King Vanessa Carlton But most favorite female singer is Alice Cooper.... Almost fell off my chair laughing when you mentioned Alice Cooper - thank you for the humor. Some of my favorite singers not mentioned yet include Sarah Brightman, Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation, Tarja Turunen formerly of Nightwish, Simone Simons of Epica, and Manuella Kraller formerly of Xandria.

Jackie Evancho is absolutely remarkable - one of the purest voices I have ever heard!! It is to be hoped that her voice gets even better and more powerful as she traverses puberty. Even now she is a force to be reckoned with...

Sandy Denny. Beautiful powerful voice in early Fairport Convention. Some of you may only know her from the duet with Robert Plant on Led Zeppelin IV, but FC is definitely worth checking out. I think they still exist, Richard Thompson has made his own remarkable career, and still going strong. He is touring the US regularly, do yourselves a favour and go see him.
