I second Jane Monheit. I've seen her perform locally many times. Russ Attachments:

How about totally crazy, really. Insane woman. Way out there. Diamanda Galas.
If you want to see her super crazy look her up yourself. It's not really appropriate for a family show like the Emotiva lounge.
Here she is with my man John Paul Jones. I actually saw this tour live and got JPJ to sign my ticket stub.

Sharon Jones has one of the most powerful voices performing today, and she has an amazing backing band in the Dap Kings. Plus, they put on an amazing show if you get a chance to see them live.

From Patsy Cline and Amalia Rodriguez, Edith Piaf and Billie Holiday to Amanda Lambert and Tammy Wynette, Marion Williams and Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield or Connie Francis, you have from what to choose, day after day after day... There are dozens of them, very good vocalist.

My lovely wife become a very good female vocalist when I fart in bed. But I much prefer Chantal Chamberland for the living room.

I don't think I've seen Etta on the list. She put on a hell of a show.

Caro Emerald reminds me of Imelda May. But, IMHO, Imelda is better looking and has a better voice. But Caro is very good, thanks for that!

OK. Don't know if she's been mentioned. I got turned on to her by Garbulky. I bought both her albums from Amazon. The live album is simply fantastic: Morgan James Live, a celebration of Nina Simone.
Get it. You will not be disappointed!

Tears of Stone by the Chieftains. Very well recorded, worth it for the soundstage alone. Features Bonnie Raitt, Natalie Merchant, Joni Mitchell, the Rankins, The Coors, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Loreena McKennitt, Joan Osborne, Diana Krall, Sinead O'Conner.
