I purchased an SR-120 during the closeout sale. I have been using it for a few months now and have noticed that every once in a while the white images on the screen will look jagged. For example, the scrolling bar at the bottom of espn has white lettered text and it is illegible as the text scrolls. An immediate shutdown and restart of the SR-120 usually brings it back to normal and the text is again legible. Any ideas if this is an issue with the SR-120 or possibly other equipment in the chain, or if anyone else has had this problem before? I can take pictures if I haven't adequately described the phenomenon. I can actually take a picture of a paused screen so one can see the before and after affect if anyone is curious.

No one have this problem or no one have this receiver? Guess I will call customer support.

Well unfortunately the sound started cutting out on the SR-120. At first a few seconds or a minute later it would come back on. Later, the sound would go out and only a restart would fix it. Now the sound has gone out but a restart no longer fixes it and it stays that way. Video comes on but no sound. I have replaced it with my old denon and everything works fine with no changes but the denon. I have a service email in to Emotiva (it was after 6 on Friday so I think they were closed for a call) so I guess we will see what happens. Anybody have any ideas what I can try in the meantime. It seems that it must be a fault with the SR-120 since plugging in the Denon seemed to work fine. Of course I am not that knowledgeable on the subject so input would be appreciated. I'll try just about anything.

My PT7020 had an issue exactly like yours. I sent it back and it had dropped the firmware. They reloaded the firmware and it now works fine.

Mine works great. If you can avoid it, go directly to your display from your sources. There is really no need to use the SR120 for video that I can think of, most bluray players easily decode as well as the sr120

There is really no need to use the SR120 for video that I can think of, most bluray players easily decode as well as the sr120 I'm a little confused. How would this help with my no sound issue? Or are you talking about the fuzzy white issue I had? I might try going directly to the display to fix that, but right now the no sound issue is my biggest problem. I will try the firmware reinstall tomorrow afternoon.

My SR-120 menu will not display and my bluray will not play. I bypassed the SR-120 and went direct to tv and it works. Anyone have an idea what to do?

You said you were having an issue with having "noticed that every once in a while the white images on the screen will look jagged" That didn't seem like audio to me...
Anyway, try reflashing the unit. That might help..

Ah. In the fifth post of this thread I updated the problems I was having. I still have the white images problem but more pressing is my sound stopped working. I still get video but no sound.

Yeah, I tried that. also tried unplugging the unit and leaving it sit for a while. As soon as the kids go for their nap I am going to try and reflash the firmware.

Well crud. Anybody know where the download files and instructions are for the firmware update on the new site? I can't seem to find them anymore. Shouldn't have deleted everything I guess.

Yeah, hopefully the resources section and older product manuals are added back to the new site. For now, I had to use Archive.org and went back to March 28, 2014 (the latest capture that has the old resources/manuals pages). I also had to activate the links to the resources section. Here you go: Sherbourn SR-120, PT-7020A, PT-7020C4Firmware Updates: 5.06.14Firmware Instructions: Download PDFFirmware AVR Installer: Download InstallerUpdated Drivers for 64 Bit Windows: Windows 64 Bit Driver Update for AVR InstallerInstructions for 64 Bit Windows Drivers (and computer troubleshooting): Download PDFI'd recommend reading the instructions fully before starting the process.

Ok. So the firmware reinstall worked for the sound. But now the remote control is screwy. I put new batteries in it so I know that's not the issue. Now the remote only works half of the time. Also when I push the volume up button the volume goes up as expected but when I hit volume down, it continues to go up until I let let it sit for a minute. Then if I hit volume down, it will go down, but if I hit volume up it will still go down. Basically I have to let it sit for a while before trying to change the volume direction. Weird. I still haven't received a response from Emotiva, so if I don't hear anything by wednesday I will call.
