Oh I wish I was on a float with beads Watching girls flash to fill their needs Young and drunk with smile on my face No cares in the world and in my place The world needs a Mardi Gras to escape its fear I wish the Ukrainians could be here
God bless us one and all.

Hmmm. I spent today watching over my little grandson. We had a great day while the parents enjoyed Mardis Gras. Never thought I’d ever think I’d enjoy missing the festivities… but today was a nice day.

REO last night, very good concert! The new guy in the band has only been with them since 1989! 🤣

Yeah - On the way home from high school each day, I passed by Mr. Joe LoBianco's grocery. It was a one-room shop, and Mr. Joe lived in the attached house to the back. I found that Mr. Joe would sell me a beer if I asked. I didn't much like them, but I was so proud that I could buy one that I'd do so on the way home fairly frequently. Some years later, I found that Mr. Joe had called my parents and gotten permission to sell me a beer. I had to laugh, in retrospect, but at the time, it made me consider myself "all grown up."
There was no way that ANY kid could get away with anything in that neighborhood at that time. Somebody always saw what you were doing and if you did anything bad, your parents would hear about it pronto. Good way to grow up!

I fired up the generator the other day and found that it wasn't maintaining 3,600 RPM. The carb was "hunting" up and down without ever settling in. I put a load on it, and it did even worse.
So this afternoon, I disconnected the gas tube from the tank & filled up the carb with spray Sea Foam. I'll let it soak overnight & try it again tomorrow morning. It does have a fuel filter that I can change if it still won't work.
If the engine is smoother in the morning, but still not steady, I'll dump a bottle of Sea Foam in the tank & let it run for an hour or few.
Generator maintenance in July - one of the joys of Southern living...
UPDATE: Reconnected the gas line this morning & started the Generator. Much smoother - no hunting - but still an occasional sputter. I poured a couple cans of Sea Foam in the tank & will let it run for a couple of hours.

I do know the joys of engine maintenance but when she fires up and brings Heat or Cool in the appropriate season it’s such a joy! Better to find the problem now then when you actually need it to stay in the comfort we have grown accustomed to. Bright side and all that ya know! 😁
