It is great to hear so many positive reviews and recommendations for PSA. I am also in the market in the near future and I did contact PSA and Tom wrote back quickly with some initial thoughts and then asked a few more questions to dial in his recommendations. I do not think that level of service can be beat and they are at the top of my list right now. The other thing that really impressed me is he did not try to up sell anything. He recommended dual xv15se due the size of my room (3000 sq feet) and it being on a concrete slab which he claims should get me near reference levels. The only comment about the next level up was that the xv30se would give more mid bass. I ordered my XMC1 on friday so hopefully that will be in my hands soon and once dirac is shipped it will be time to make a subwoofer decision. Right now the only decision will be if I go with dual xv15 or xv30.

I have a Rythmik D15SE. That thing is a beautiful, beautiful beast. Did I mention that it's beautiful? It puts out more bass than I can reasonably (or for that matter, unreasonably) use. Naturally, I'm considering getting a second one. I should also point out that it's a really nice look sub - beautiful really.

May I recommend Power Sound Audio (PSA). I own their XV15 model, and am VERY pleased. It was well under $1K. I've also owned M&K, B&W, Definitive Technology, Klipsch, and other subs. The PSA is the best value of any. Boomzilla (moniker NOT indicative of listening preferences) I have witnessed this particular sub in action at the invitation of 'zilla. It's a wonderful sub, quick and responsive , also with a movie that has some serious bass, you'll feel,it before you hear it just when you should. I do think that a pair of them would easily replace my four subs, my two cents and change,,,,he,,,,he,,,,,

Not to hi-jack this into a PSA thread, but I also contacted Tom recently and had the same customer service experience as you detail. My initial thoughts were to a single or double XV15se setup, but after some back and forth, Tom actually suggested that dual XS15's would probably be very good for me, and actually pointed out that they would cost LESS...what other business downsells??? He did also comment that dual XV15's would be fantastic as well. I am still on the fence, but thinking dual XV15's. Part of my holding back is the fact that I am in Canada, so really measuring this purchase off against dual SVS PB-2000's (which are available in Canada, and would be a small amount less), or dual SVS cylinder subs, which would take up a bit less floor space, but not sure I (or the wife) would be happy about the way they look. Aren't HT decisions fun? Would love to hear what the OP decided....

I had the same experience with Rythmik. Enrico told me he'd be happy to sell me the FV15HP, but it was completely unnecessary in my room. We talked a bit, and determined that the best sub for me would be the D15SE (which, incidentally is what a coworker suggested for me, and originally turned me on to Rythmik). I think guys like Tom (at PSA) and Brian and Enrico (at Rythmik) are sub enthusiasts first, and businessmen second. They want people to get the right product, not necessarily the most expensive product. I have't worked with Tom, but everything I hear about him and about PSA tells me he's a stand-up guy. I have worked with Enrico and Brian, and I can vouch for their awesomeness first hand.

Good options offered so far. Another is dual PB-1000. Or dual SVS SB-1000 for $949.99 if you prefer a sealed sub. 45 day home audition and 100% refund towards an upgrade to more expensive subs within a year! Me? A SVS fanboy? How could you tell???

No one else has plugged it yet, so I will: Hsu Research VTF-15H. Of course, this assumes size isn't an issue.

I went back and forth between dual SVS SB-13 Ultras or dual Rythmik Audio F15HPs. I went with the Rythmiks and am completely amazed at how responsive they are (and darn loud if you need them to be).

Their website leaves a lot to be desired, but between the sheer quality of their subs and prompt, courteous customer service, I can't do anything but HIGHLY recommend Rythmik Audio. There was a thread a while back comparing the SVS SB-13 Ultras and the E15HPs (the little brothers of the ones that I bought). It should provide some insight: www.avsforum.com/forum/113-subwoofers-bass-transducers/1471574-rythmik-e15-vs-svs-sb13-ultra-4.html#post24544440

Thanks for all the input guys!
I was looking at the PSA site again (for the millionth time) and they had a XV15-se-b for $849. It said sold out, but I didn't give any details. I assumed it meant it was b-stock. So I inquired about the sub in the live chat window. Tom says "sorry that one sold a few days ago. If you want I can sell you a brand new now for that price. $849 shipped". I said "awesome! Take my money." Very cool service from these guys.
