Now that I've had the XMC-1 for all of 10 days, the only thing I really want is dual sub support through Dirac. It's probably the ONLY thing Audyssey XT32 does that Dirac doesn't. (PS - please let me know if I'm wrong )

I couldn't find it the other day but a turn on with last selected input would be nice. edit found it.... And for mute options a selectable DB cut range or level range plus a timed mute for adverts like 1/23/4/5 mins would be sweet.

I am getting my XMC-1 dialed in and absolutely love it. One change that I think would be helpful for a lot of people would be to add a menu option to select a video input for an audio source. I would think people with turntables or other non-video sources would like the option to see something on their tv. I have four inputs: Button 1: HDMI1 Cable box Button 2: HDMI2 PC Button 3: HDMI3 PS4 Button 4: Analog1 Turntable Set up this way (with a single HDMI cable from the XMC-1 to the TV) when I select button 4 to play the turntable the tv screen goes black. I want the video source to be the PC so I can browse the web or play a slideshow. I called Emotiva and was told the only way to do this was to first select button 2 and then go into the menu options and change the audio source. I mostly listen to wax and that is too much of a hassle. As a work around, I cut the XMC-1 out of the video and use my programmable remote to change the video source but I have lost my OSD. I changed the audio source for the first three to optical in 1, 2 & 3 and ran the HDMI cables directly to the TV. Each of the video HDMI inputs has a menu option to select a different audio source. My suggestion would be to add a similar menu option to the audio inputs that lets you select a video source. My PC only has one HDMI output, if it had two I could run one to the HDMI2 and one to the HMDI4 input and then change the audio source to analog1 for button 4. I may look into upgrading the graphic card in my PC and go that way. Wonderful product! Thank you for the opportunity to make the suggestion. David

David you could get a splitter for the PC output. Also you don't need to go into the menus to keep the last video source when changing to phono...just hit button 2, wait a moment then button 4 and the video from the PC should stay there unless you have video source selected for the phono input...if so set it to none.

(PS - please let me know if I'm wrong ) Dirac does dual mono subs, it just does it incorrectly in most people's opinion. The issue is that it adjusts each sub independently, which does not account for the interaction with the room and each other. This is one thing that Dirac Unison gets right. The solution in the mean time is to run both subs off a single XMC output with a splitter.

Well I really hope that in software version 3, Emotiva adjusts the behavior of zone 2. Now when zone 2 is switched on, there is not one action which switches the complete system off so both zone 1 and 2. And because zone 2 has only a toggle switch for on/off it makes it hard to automatically switch off the XMC-1 completely. Also there is no setting for power on volume for zone 2 like it is for zone1. It always defaults to 0 dB which is very loud.

The solution in the mean time is to run both subs off a single XMC output with a splitter. ..........and you don't have to have a splitter if you use both left balanced(XLR) and left unbalanced(RCA) outputs.

I called Emotiva and was told the only way to do this was to first select button 2 and then go into the menu options and change the audio source. I mostly listen to wax and that is too much of a hassle. <snip> There's a much, much easier way...than any of that. Put your PS4 on HDMI2, and the PC on HDMI3...the XMC-1 will keep showing the last video source displayed when you go to an "audio-only" input (forget if this is by default, or if you have to do a one-time setting for this in a menu somewhere, but believe me, it's possible)...so if you're using the PC and want to put a record on (or you plan to use both, you have to turn the PC on anyway, maybe log in, so you're selecting it at some point), then you just hit the "Input UP-arrow" button on the remote, and voila! I do this, because I have several different audio out's from my HTPC...HDMI for when I let the kids surf or watch YouTube videos...Xonar analog 7.1, Xonar Optical, and USB (motherboard coax is anotehr option, I probably even have it hooked up, but not using it...guess I could assign it to a different video source if I wanted to watch a game and listen to the radio feed over the PC, or just casual music-listening)...in any case I set the XMC-1 to HTPC:hdmi to turn it on, log in, and launch whatever player I want; this gives me the video; then I have the others set up in order, so I just use "Input ^" to get to them...in fact I even go past an audio-only input (for an optical line that I ran back from the TV as an alternative to HDMI ARC) in order to get to HTPC:USB, and it still works, since there's no video associated with the TV:optical input. I did very much the same thing with my UMC-200. The UMC-1 had fully-assignable A/V inputs, meaning you could pair _any_ audio input jack with _any_ video input jack, even assign one video jack to multiple inputs, each with a different audio source; this was _*THE BOMB*_, and some of us have asked for this feature to be brought to the XMC-1 (and by "asked", I mean "begged"). Lonnie has indicated that it's technically possible, but no idea whether they are actively looking at it or working on it. Couldn't hurt to add your voice to the mix...here, via e-mail, etc. There was a poll a while back, but I imagine it's buried a few pages down by now... Anyway, give it a shot, it's by far the easiest way I know of, and sounds like you only need to switch the two inputs to do what you want...just to get the PC on the one right before the turntable, as you cycle through them...hope this helps. Edit: Or what wizardofoz said...but I tend to use the remote, and can't always remember what button is what...in fact, not sure I even have HTPC:USB assigned to a discrete button at the moment (I ran out...); so I have mine set up more for scrolling through inputs via the "Input ^" and "Input v" buttons.

BI-AMP I believe some of us already asked for Bi-Amping capability, which we believe shouldn't add much cost and relatively easier to add (compared to some other features that is). Sorry I haven't had a chance to read through all pages. But, I believe someone said Emotiva is working on Bi-amping, but just checking if anyone knows if Bi-Amping is already added to the recent firmware. I am thinking either XMC-1 or new upcoming flagship DAC from Emotiva sometime around July. So, it will be great if bi-amping is made by the decision time. Thanks, I think you could probably achieve somthing akin to this using the split outputs ie sub for the bass and mains for highs, if you don't need a sub specificly but could also run the subs off the other outputs like XLR or rca or a single and maybe get away with that. I have always been an exponent of actively pre amplifier crossed over setups. I guess it really depends on what your speakers go down to. Hi Wiz, I will have a sub too. So.. for me biamping capacity is a must. I already have two stereo amps ready.

I started the poll that edrummereasye refers to. The support for the fully assignable inputs was overwhelmingly positive. Based on that, I PM'd Lonnie and Dan Laufman and asked them if they would now include the feature. I didn't hear back anything, so I PM'd them again - and again heard nothing. I also queried them on the forum (I believe in this thread a long time ago) and heard nothing. Hopefully they are reading this now and will respond. FWIW, here is the poll thread: emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/38663/poll-configurable-inputs-based-processors?page=1Mark

I hope you get this Mark but something tells me it may be baked into the architecture and not very easy to rewrite the code [though entirely possible] ; and maybe the lack of response is the answer as theres bigger fish to fry and other upgrades that are easier to incorporate at this point in time vvv . Theres always the chance 'system improvements' may be a nice surprise

cwt I sure hope so. FYI, my first PM's to Lonnie and Dan were in 9/14, and I thought maybe that the "bigger fish to fry" could be a reason for the non-response. So, I waited to re-ask until 12/14 when the XMC was pretty well along. Still no word, so hoping to be surprised by 3.0! If not then, then with the XMR... Mark

One another wishlist item. For the FM tuner (I think the XMC-1 has a wonderful tuner). Display RDS information in big type on the OLED panel. The way RDS info is displayed today is almost useless if you're listening to the radio.
I'd also like the RDS station name to become the default label for the station when storing it as a preset.
And, I'd like the Info button to ONLY show the RDS information as an option. And even have an option to leave it on the OSD at all times.

I'd like to see the backup files being stored in xml format.
that way it will be easy to modify a backup file using a pc. writing labels via a keyboard is a bless for an example

+1 for the XML...could also add your tuner stations and names etc in custom order.

And a scan and store all stations like the umc-1 did would be nice Curious as to the noise threshold when scanning the stations in Wizard ; does it currently deep six or skip bad s/n ratio noisy ones or maybe you just have to switch them to mono like an old standalone tuner could ? If its got a high noise threshold a complete scan would certainly save time . Where I live theres a bit of multipath and sometimes a channel will be duplicated/echoed so I have gotten used to skipping one at a time [ a good tuner is very rare these days but a well picked threshold makes all the difference..
