I don't think that Paradigm sells B-stock. However, there are a ton of used Paradigms on the market. Why not save some money and go that way?
FYI, you can do better than Paradigm for the same money. GoldenEar Tritons (7s are *awesome*) come to mind. As do Tekton Lores and Pendragons. No matter, any of these brands will be a big step up from the Klipschs and Bose you currently have...

Well, among the more important aspects of a surround sound system, matching the timbre of the various speakers is at or near the top of the list. In that case, getting some Studio Paradigms would be a good move for you.
And keep in mind that I'm not dissing Paradigms, I used to own a pair of Studio 80s and liked 'em. However, there are better speakers for the same money. Nonetheless, if you like the Paradigm sound, then by all means go for Paradigms all around, you'll be very glad you did.

I think the Studio 100's are an excellent performer and a good value. Like others said, just do it. Timbre matching is the right way to go for a cohesive sound. Perhaps move the Bose 901's to another room and replace them with Studio 20's. Then down the line upgrade the center to a cc590 or cc690.
With those great amplifiers of yours, I bet you will love the improvement.

But has anyone really looked at my sig and understand what hight speakers do?? They only augment far away sounds in the theater. They are 18" off the ceiling and are not driven very hard do to there prop use I have appointed to them. front and rear hight speakers give a sense of depth and hight around the movie goers. They are not the main attraction of the sound field. I hate to go on like this but I don't think they have a huge contribution to the main sound field, just the secondary sound field which in some movies can be very enjoyable. Studio 20s would be a huge waist of capital for these duties. last, the center channel with 7 speakers in it, the Monitor CC-390 v6 will have to do, it's made by Paradigm and is a close match. For the future I believe that you are correct in suggesting the CC-690. Once you've had a center of this size and abilities you just can't go back. My current center is the size of many tower speakers and very capable for the center duties, for theater it's the most important channel. thanks again to all. Nick

I've had Paradigm Signatures in a 5.1 setup before. Ive also demoed almost all Studio v5 models and Monitor v6 models. They''re good, but there are many companies out there with great sounding speakers that will make Paradigm seem very overpriced. If I was in your shoes, I would sell all the speakers and start over. Audition some popular ID brands like Salk, Ascend Renton etc much as you can. That is what I did and I no longer have the Signatures. I actually found quite a few speakers that were cheaper than the Studio and Signature models and sounded better. If you have high frequency hearing loss though, and mainly(>90%) use your system for home theater, Paradigms might be a near perfect speaker. Just my opinion though...

I want to thank Danny for having the guts to say what I didn't. It was what I was thinking all along. And Nick, you are wrong about timbre matching your speakers. ALL of the speakers in a surround sound system are important, and you will find that timbre matching ALL of the speakers will pay big dividends in providing a cohesive soundfield. The improvement is an order of magnitude more apparent than what you gained from buying the XPR amps, think about that.
You have already spent big bucks on your electronics, why would you shortchange the system by using less than properly matched speakers? It makes no sense. I agree 100% with Danny, sell the lot of what you have and re-build with timbre matched speakers all around. The improvement in your sound quality will be astonishing, I promise you that.
There are plenty of ID companies producing *fabulous* speakers that will allow you to do 30-60 day in-home trials: GoldenEar, Tekton, and Gallo (and Gallo pays shipping both ways if you return the speakers!!) come to mind immediately. Do it right, your system and your ears deserve nothing less...

Finally dragged out of someone what I was looking for, Geezzzzz what's a guy got to do to get a real honest opinion? I applaud danny01 for his bravery and bluntness I've had this feeling but no one would speak up! Thanks!
At this time I'll work on just the mains. a little defense of the mix our speakers I have is that you should just hear a movie in my cave,,,,wow is the most common, even among sets avid movie goers. Also, theater is much more forgiving then 2.1 or 5.1 music.
any thoughts on the B&W CM 9 or 10 ?

Nick. Did you miss my Pendragons for $1,400?
IMO I don't think there is a single speaker on the market that will make you happier then the Pendragons at this price. It would be worth a road trip down to come listen to them. Bring your XMC. hehehehe

I must say, I have never heard Paradigm studio series though.
B&W are really really good, but there is so much more to be had for the money spent.

In my last post I meant Tekton, not "Renton". Phone auto corrected. I demoed the CM9. Also a very good speaker and miles ahead of B&W's own 600 series. But I feel it is almost as overpriced as Paradigm. CM series are probably on par with the Studio series, minus some of the brightness. The ADP surrounds are great, so replacing the front Klipsch and Paradigm 390 will yield great bang for your buck.
After auditioning many speakers I settled on Selah Prestigios. They are probably not the best bang for your buck if you're looking for loud, dynamic, high sensitivity+power handling HT speakers though. JTR, Seaton, Tekton, SVS Ultra are some of the big name ID go-to brands for HT speakers. With your amps, at least you know you don't have to worry about not having adequate power..
