^^^^^ The wonders of OPPO.... And I guess I'm the only one who thought this movie was garbage I shut it off after 35 minutes, but the audio is superb. So since when does the quality of the movie itself have anything to do with whether it is worthwhile to an audiophile? I have to assume that it is purely the audio that is the reason anyone sits through the entire remake of of the Worlds (among other movies... or should I say movie ). Or.....Transformers! More than meets the eye indeed. In this case the ear.

I think I'm like the only person in the world who did not like Transformers (the movie part) and also thought the sound was totally underwhelming for what it should have been. Saw it in the theater and at home on Blu-ray and neither did anything for me.

I used to really like him, but now he's got some kind of marble mouth delivery that seems to make it's way into every character. But maybe we each tune in to something and start picking on it, I haven't noticed the Russell Crow thing and generally like him.

I guess I'm the exception.

Nothing like say, the train wreck scene in Super 8. Now THAT was a holy crap surround sound crazy bass scene.

I have a few favorites that I loke to pop in to "flex" the HT system a bit. These are all films where I really liek the audio, but not necessarily the film. Some of these films I do like though.
Master & Commander (the film I think would most benefit from speakers in celing above your head, if it had a proper mix) Transformers 1 Terminator Salvation Rambo 4 Thor Dark Knight Fantastic 4 G.I. Joe
+many more I can't think of off the top of my head.

But the mumbling thing... that really annoys me.

I am so relieved! Yes, I'd put the DVD in instead of the Blu-ray. Mea Culpa. What a dumb mistake. Thanks for the tip. Mel Congratulations! You are now a Certified Lounge Nut!

Actually, mid movie he sings a few numbers from Les Miserable. But seriously, for Les Mis he was one of the blatantly worst "casted" actors I've ever seen. He absolutely ruined that movie. Every time you start getting enthralled by the sheer glory of it all, he steps in and opens his horrible singing voice. What a shame.

I highly recommend you run out to Walmart and get a copy of Noah to flex your system... maybe its my new subs shaking the house to much.... but I don't think so!!! master and commander didn't have much bass except for a couple of cannon ball scenes ... needs more bass scenes... other wise is like the dead come seas of the mid pacific ocean .... cheers

I hope it is better than his non-stop potty mouth delivery in The Big Lebowski. 95% of the dialog consisted of two words, dude and the f-word!

I was not a Lebowski fan, don't think it was Bridges per se, but the movie just didn't hold my interest - but Jeff's not in Noah I was just relating to Hemster's comment on mumbling. Bridges came up with a vocal quality maybe for True Grit where it might have worked, a cross between marbles and chewing his cud (can you tell how much I like it). The problem is he seems to like it and I now hear it in everything he does, I didn't see R.I.P but heard it in the trailer, I've heard it elsewhere. Don't want to derail this though, Noah is good.

I found a lot of Blu-Ray movies are now shipping with the Blu-ray disk on the Left side of the case, with a bunch of adverts (ultra stuff) covering it. While the DVD rests in the right side of the case, uncovered.
Tend to pick up the one in the right side.
Irritates me every time I do it. Keep checking the OPPO and the 7030 to see what is wrong. The OPPO will upscale the picture to 1080P, so the picture does not look that bad, just the sound is not what I am expecting.
