I did call them yesterday and thought all was resolved. Today They followed up with an email and explained the problems they were having with UPS. So now I feel better about them as a company, hence my apology to them for getting frustrated too quickly.
I agree with you about there products, warranty and policy.

I tend to read into too many online reviews about A/V Receivers, more recently cnet said the Sony STRDN1050 was the best sounding receiver for the money. Of course, they did not mention the 8100, just other receivers like Onyko.

Reviews and all choices in like are a lot life ice cream, everyone has their preference and then there are those flavor so you've never tried how do you discount them. There not any good just because you've never tasted them?? i prefer my Yamaha, but that's just me,,,,,I haven't tasted all the other flavors.

I have an old Marantz SR8000 that I had to repair last year with a new power supply that I am using for now. Still sounds pretty good.

So did you get your Fusion 8100 ? Or is it UPS limbo. We are breathless waiting for what you think of the unit. Please update us with your views and opinions. I know how hard it can be waiting to get something new and trying to figure out where in the UPS food chain it is.

Sorry I have not gotten back, but I am still forming an opinion. Having some issues with sound dropping, but it may be the source.
Bottom line, it sounds great.
Compared to my Marantz, I am hearing less treble with the 8100. Also, it seems I hear sound mostly from my right speaker.
I ran the correction program. Surround sound is as good as any other receiver I listened to. I listened to jazz mostly yesterday and it just sounded so good, not harsh like some receivers. Maybe the less treble helped with this.
Quality is great, I was impressed on how the unit was packed and the attention to detail. I have some high hearing loss, and on some TV shows, I am finding it hard to understand dialog.
I am hoping with the help of this board, I can fine tune my 8100 to my B&W speakers.
Right now, I cannot see sending this back as I feel I can correct these issues and the value for the money is great. (5 yr warranty) I am listening to SiriusXm Watercolors right now.
I am hearing more detail in the bass with tight punch.
Very glad I decided to buy the Emotiva 8100.

I started with a DAC the XDA -2 about two years ago and have since bought seven Emotiva products. Been happy with all my purchases. Welcome to the family and if you have questions or concerns feel free to use the Forum or call Emotiva directly to get your answers.

Had the volume set to 45 If you have a chance and want to hear great surround sound from your system in audio buy a Blu-ray Audio Disc. For rock I suggest Elton Johns "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". Great sound and mix for a reasonable price. For Classical Music Naxos new Dvorak releases are great. You can find them on Amazon.and eBay.

Thanks, Emotiva does not make a blu-ray player? Sure they do, they gust disguise it with a different branding name!,,,,he,,,,he,,,,, They eh call it an Oppo,,,,,,,,he,,,,,he,,,,,, Honestly, no blue ray player from Emotiva. Just doesn't make sense to reinvent the wheel,,,,,especially when their wheel works so well! :-) Edit: try this link for a discount ,,,,,when their in stock. www.oppodigital.com/proddetail.asp?prod=ZBDP103D

Thanks, Emotiva does not make a blu-ray player? If you are tight on funds a Sony BDP-5100 is a very good Blu-ray player for about $88 dollars if you can find one. It is last rears model. Will also play SACD's. Also is DNLA compliant so you can stream to your Fusion if you want.

I've had my fusion since August and I've always noticed some intermittent sound drop when my source was my cable box (via HDMI). Sound drops/goes out for a couple of seconds and when it comes back the receiver displays the source codec as if you've turned on the source for the first time. I always though this was due to my cable box since I don't see the same issue when watching movies/music from my computer (via HDMI too). I only started noticing it again when I looked at these forums and a review from Amazon saying the same thing.
