I hope this is the right place to post this. I am new here at the Lounge and new to Emotiva. I just heard about Emotiva yesterday by searching for a home amplifier. I am not an audiophile but I really enjoy music and home theater. I currently have 7.1 surround sound in my living room and 5.1 in my master bedroom. I have a stereo setup in my workshop, Sony receiver with some old Pioneer CS88's. The pioneer speakers were purchased new by my uncle during his tour of duty in Vietnam and they actually still play well. I had a mobile DJ service for 15 years and I kept my collection of vinyl, CD's and cassettes which I enjoy listening to.
My living room consists of LG 60" plasma, Onkyo TX SR876, Elemental Designs speakers and sub. The front mains are Tower speakers, A6-6T6. They work well but I have been considering a change in the set up. My bedroom has Onkyo TX504 and Bose Acoustimas speakers. I know most people frown on Bose products but I also have some Bose 901. Before I get some Bose bashing I want to explain my 901 purchase. I had a old set of 901's that needed re-foaming, they were series IV and I paid $90.00 for the pair with no EQ. I intended to repair the drivers but later decided to go a different route. I ended up doing a trade as credit toward the new pair from Bose. I recently decided to replace the towers with the 901's, use the Onkyo TXSR876 as preamp and use an external amp to power the 901's which has brought me here to Emotive. I researched other manufacturers and most of them were so cheaply made or extremely over priced. So today I ordered a new Emotiva XPA-2 to power my Bose 901's. I heard the all the remarks that you can get better speakers etc. I want to learn more and in the future make upgrades for better listening environment.

You'll be pleased with the XPA-2. It's a fine sounding beast of an amplifier. Congratulations.

The value of eD gear drastically dropped by how the shutdown went. Hope you enjoy your new toy and let us know if you have any questions. Tony

The car amps worked ok but they were no different they any "cookie cutter" amp at that time. I still have the eD home sub clone that I built, 10" with 300 watt Bash amp. I still like my eD Towers, Center and surrounds
