I have think that I have tried everything but still cannot get the network to recognize the XMC. I have the latest firmware on my XMC. I running Windows 8.1. My router is a d-link dir-655. I have reset my router. Disabled my virus program (Vipre) and windows firewall. Downloaded Chuck's program and it shows the box with the description but does not locate the XMC. Is there something that I have not done. Please help.

So Chuck, I have not seen much from you on how Dirac has the ability to take control of the 7.2 audio over the network. You have a chance to wireshark the dirac run yet? Tony

I just need to get through the Christmas glucose spike and I'll be ready to roll.........

I hope to remember on my next dirac run to get the wireshark data. I would love to have a windows driver to create a v-soundcard that ports the audio to the XMC. It would make writing up a tutorial on REW much easier. Tony

Can anybody that has worked with the protocol comment on whether it is possible to turn Dirac on/off? I see there are commands for setting music/movie presets, but nothing about Dirac. Perhaps the "speaker_preset" command could be used to cycle in/out of it?

Either 1, 2, or Dirac must be selected so to turn Dirac off you must select one of the other 2.

I don't own an XMC-1. I'm still on the fence (network control being a sticking point). I was thinking that cycling presets would just cycle between Movie/Music/Dirac, like you said, but I was hoping somebody with the hardware could confirm.

The XMC will cycle between Preset 1, Preset 2, and Dirac. One (and only one) of the three must be selected. To turn one off, you just select one of the others. Don't confuse Music and Movie PLIIx and Neo6 modes with the Music and Movie names given to Presets 1 and 2.

Yep, I understand the difference. I'm looking to have an XMC-1 run two different sets of speakers (two different rooms: theater and living room). I do this now, but just optimize for the theater, which is not so great for the living room setup. I'd like to use the presets to be able to switch back and forth between optimized setups for each.
Sounds promising. Thanks.

Hello, after updating to FW 3.0, PC app throws error 'Parser Error 139 , Error parsing Transponder Ping packet'. Any idea what could be the problem ? Many thanks !
