Look for the new Fusion Flex amplifier this week.
Very sweet little piece of kit, as the English say.
Lot's of very useful features... that's why we call it "Flex"!

Although I respect Focal, I've never owned a pair. Now if you had said "darkranger swears by Ascend Acoustics," that would be true.

I am disappointed that it does not have a headphone out. I was hoping to replace my Mini-X with it as my desktop amp because I need another input. I disconnect and swap RCA's now and could use a headphone amp to drive some Senn 600's. I will have to wait for something else from Emotiva or get something from someone else. I would like to keep the gear to a minimum on me desktop and I need everything that the Mini-X amp puts out to drive my desktop speakers properly.

Use the daisy chain and connect it to a headphone amp this one: schiit.com/products/magni-2But fair warning expecting any all in one amp or a very budget headphone amp to drive HD600's WELL is expecting too much imo. You need a headphone amp with balls to tackle the 300 ohm HD600. Having said that, a lot of hadphone amps like the magni will drive the HD600's pretty nicely

Having said that, a lot of hadphone amps like the magni will drive the HD600's pretty nicely Garbulky, this Mini-X / Fusion Flex will drive HD600's just fine and the reason I have not done the Mod that a bunch of folks have done to a Mini-X is I was waiting on a one-piece solution. Selectable inputs, 50 watts per channel output and 300 ohm headphone output. I looked at the TEAC stuff and I think you get about 10 watts per channel with them. I guess I could get the Fusion Flex and drill the front panel and do the Headphone mod to it. I really think this was a missed opportunity for this unit with all those folks that use the Mini-X as a small footprint desktop amp instead of the Zone amp I think it was intended to be. I remember Lonnie saying after a big long thread about the Mini-X headphone out Mod " If you guys want a headphone amp I can build you one". Garbulky, I would be surprised if Emotiva did not have plans for a small footprint desktop system with plenty of horsepower. Some of this stuff I see online that will do what I want cost $2000. No way am I going to pay that for a little integrated amp. I have to go do some thinking because I am also not happy they lost the volume knob. Boy Dan, I think you missed the mark on this one but I have faith that you are going to build us some great gear and I remember well you telling me you had a great crew working on the digital gear and PC gear. Will see, I am in no hurry.

This looks exactly like the PA2-50 from Sherborn, but with real binding posts (different remote). I'd recommend this to anyone wanting a small desktop amp. In fact, with the modest price increase over the Mini-X, I don't know why you would buy a Mini-X.

Yup, this is a Zone amp. I don't know what I was thinking. Sorry everyone. I love my Mini-X and these are great small amps. I am going to buy me a Bottlehead Crack and build it to go with the HD600's. I have been wanting a good headphone amp for awhile and while these Mini-X / Fusion Flex amps are great amps to drive bookshelf speakers or your outdoor speakers there is probably a very good reason Dan and Lonnie did not think it would be good to drive headphones. Love the clean power they provide my bookshelf speakers and the solution I should be using is the DC-1 from my PC to the Mini-X and that will give me another input. I will just have to sort out.

Funny... In the specs, it states "Convection cooled; no fans." But there is a fan on the pictures. Which one is wrong?

Just so everyone knows, you do not hear the fan. My Mini-X is two feet from my head and I have never heard a fan or anything. These units are dead quite output also. Mine is on right now with the volume knob at 12 o'clock and with a live input I put my ear to the speaker and hear nothing. Excellent amp !

I've heard similar comments about the fans on other Emotiva amps. Generally to even get the fans to turn on you really need to crank it hard. I have multiple Dayton APA-150 (think early Emotiva BPA-1) - and I've never been able to get the fan to turn on. I don't see the fan as bring a con.
