This thread was a huge bummer. I was very excited about discovering this gem of a receiver for my new home theater then I found out it's gone forever. Is there ANY chance that there will be more in stock any time soon? Does anyone have any information on that or a newer version of this coming out? Also, what are the recommendations for another receiver that would be a good alternative to the 8100? I've started eyeing the Denon AVR X4000, which can be had for under $800 these days. Honestly, I just care about solid stereo and 7.1 multichannel audio quality, HDMI 1.4+, 1080p/24/60 support, and great automated room correction/calibration capabilities. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I got a b-stock last week. If you can get your hands on one of these I highly recommend it!

Congratulations! I got one of the few Amazon had left in stock last December. I could not be happier. I have a 5.0 setup, all full range speakers set to Large with the exception of the Center, plus my mains L/R are 6 Ohm and the 8100 doesn't skip a beat.
The little AVR that could... :-)

Yup, no support pages available, no manuals, no nada...just as if it never existed.

That is something that's always thrown me for a loop. The products just flat out disappear - no archives, no manual histories...no nothing. I've found a few things over on the EmoVault site, but it's still largely incomplete.

I purchased a Denon AVR-4520ci for $800 (refurb) but it is so full of stuff I'm never going to use. I'd still rather have the 8100. Where do I look for these b-stock receivers?

I've always been surprised that Emotiva doesn't have a "Support" section on their website to not only cover their current lineup, but add more value to their older models as well:
Product Specs Photos - Manuals/Documentation
- Firmware
- etc
And you're right... When a product has run its course and is no longer offered for sale, its gone - as if it never existed. (Even though they will be supporting it via an excellent 5-year warranty...)
Additionally, I'd have to think maintaining a "Support" section to include older models would cut out so many repeat questions I see on this board... (i.e. What's the difference between the XPA-1L Gen 1 and XPA-1L Gen 2?). I know I've posted questions that could have easily answered if I had access to older specs, manuals, etc.

I'm all over it. Now that you posted the link, I think you just made it exponentially harder for me to win it. Thanks!

That eBay listing is suspsect, as they claim it is new, yet Emotiva only sells internet direct. For the warranty, I think the person that bought it from Emo or a subsequent warranty transferee has to contact Emo to transfer the warranty. siggie

If you can find one, grab it. I had a Lexicon processor paired with a Sherbourn amp and this thing sounds light years better. I do have a small issue with a transistor going out in one of the rear channels (it makes a loud crackling sound every so often), but they're sending me a shipping label and replacing it at no cost. I really wish they would have kept this unit for sale. I would have grabbed another one for the bedroom.

Just got one (Apr 28) from `B`stock at Emo for a gift for a relative.
You have to call or email and ask if they have one kicking around.

The way things are going it seems the 8100 is destined to become a collector item . Soooooooo glad I just made it in time to snatch one before it went out of stock.

Seriously. I bought mine back when they were expensive ($699 - 20% discount) and recently sold it for about what I paid.

In the "old" days, there was an archived/discontinued section on their site, but....five year warranty, nowhere near that for online support. You can call and they will eventually get you some information. My last call I spoke to support and three seven days later still waiting for the promised (we will check out the issue with you product and get back to you with call back in a few hours"...guess those "few hours" were not necessarily in a row.

I purchased my 8100 last fall and have enjoyed every minute of listening. I only use it in a two channel setup with a pair of difficult 4ohm speakers and it functions and sounds great. I also listen via several higher end headphones and I find the headphone amp to be incredibly clean and smooth. Sorry to hear it's gone. Hoping to get a few good years out of the unit. Hopefully the support will remain intact.

I'd reckon you'll get more than a few good years. Based on what I've heard from others with other Emo gear, and Sherbourn amps.

Pretty bizar we get this amount of warranty but the stuff is going out of existence very quick nothing can be found about it anymore. Nothing to be found of my Sherbourn SR-8100 also. Btw is the fusion almost identical inside ?
