I once did this exact same build but built 4. And used two ep4000s.. 1 was actually enough but I couldn't resist wanting more bass

Ivor, Roxul Safe n Sound or Pillows ? whats the best of the two for in the box Ivor will know, but I'd put money on the Roxul if money is not a factor. I think it would have better sound properties,,,,,,,,but then again, I've never built a sub from scratch. im enjoying your build Chad, thanks so much for sharing.

I just use pillows in mine... I wouldn't gives far as the Roxul. I used eggcrate foam in my ported boxes. You'd want to double check with someone smarter than I but...the roxul is made to absorb the sound and not let it escape the "area" the pillows or polyfill (polyester strands) makes the box seem larger so the 4cu ft reacts like a 6cu ft enclosure when stuffed with 1lb of poly or 1 pillow for every cu ft. Or so is my understanding, there is probably a scientific explanation but I'm too dumb to give it.

Ivor, Roxul Safe n Sound or Pillows ? whats the best of the two for in the box I would fit in 6 or 9 inches of roxul all the way around .. it will make the box play bigger .. \\ all the sub makers stuff there boxes.. with the roxul you can cut to fit snug ez.. I not sure which once but if you got more money can look around the the pink 705 703 acoustic stuff.. roxul be a great poor mans choice get a 23 x 47 x 3 bag with 8 sheets stuff them all in if you can lol I guess with the braces lots of work .. think it would be good.. cheers..

So I've been discussing with a much smarter friend and he suggests to just put a couple pillows or line the walls with some of this stuff www.rona.ca/en/insulation-04125311--1To cut down on reflections bit no need to get carried away.

I'm thinking not to overdue it with too much absorption but just cut down on reflections, some cheap walmart or dollar store pillows will be good

Some more progress, I have the feet installed, went to Home Depot and grabbed some M10 x 50mm bolts, washers, lock washers and some rubber washers to mount the Parts Express Feet to the box, after I finished installing all four I put the second coat of Restore on and I will head back in about an hour to snap a few more pics and the only thing left to do is install the binding posts and cable and some pillows for absorption. Forgot to ask you what hardware you used to mount the driver to the cabinet, just some #8 or #10 black screws ?
