I have a strange problem with my UMC-200.
In few hours after powering on it started to response very slow to volume control and other buttons on the remote and front panel. When I tried to send it to standby I found that it didn't react. So I have to turn it off using back panel switch. When I powered it on again it stuck in an endless loop with "Loading....." sign on the screen.
What should I do to bring it back to life? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

This sounds an awful lot like the power source problem that I had with my UMC-200. I sent it in for repair and if I'm remembering correctly, they replaced C18 & C19 in the power supply. Give tech support a call on Monday.

Just had this happen to mine. Stuck in infinite loading. Super disappointed. I've never had any issues with other processors. Did they get your unit fixed? How much was it? Daniel

Daniel If it is under warranty it is free. You are only out of shipping costs. If you are outside of the US things get complicated since costs and custom varies per country. If it is a replaceable board and you feel conformable opening up your unit, they will send you the parts and you do not void your warrenty. Again, call them for details.

I had the same problem, same fix. The wonderful guys and gals in tech even upgraded my rom for me! I had purchased the unit as b stock, so I had to pay out the ass. It was $50.
OK, I am kidding about paying out the ass obviously. But everyone in the house was happy when the UMC-200 made it back home and we could retire the Denon again.

Hi Sounds as though this may be an under reported problem. My unit has entered this problem mode twice, the first about a month ago and again on Thursday. On the first occasion, a firmware reload solved the problem but not so this time around. Emotiva believes it is a power supply board problem and is going to mail me a replacement board. Warranty will be maintained if I have a local (I'm in Australia) licensed repairer replace (at my expense) the board. However, I will void my warranty if I do the replacement. With the replacement done, the firmware will have to be reloaded. However, I cannot find any trace of the firmware download on the Emotiva website. When I do a search, it comes up with the Emotiva lounge. It's almost as though the unit never existed. I'd really appreciate if anyone out there can tell me where this can be found.

Just had the "Loading...." forever on the front screen of the UMC-200 the other day. I was going to turn it off and then back on again to see what happened. But, note, the video was passing through ok, but no audio. So first I hit the front power button, thinking I would be turning it to the off state (actually standby state), and instead of that it acted as if I had turned the machine on! It booted up fully and seemed to be fine. So, I never had to flip the actual power off switch on the back to try cold boot. Must have got caught in boot-up and thought it was still in standby mode.

Installed replacement power supply board (took all of 10 minutes) sent by Emotiva and loaded firmware. The unit switched on and off successfully a number of times after loading firmware, while in isolation from UPA-700. However, when connected to the 700 and that unit's power on was triggered by the 200. The 200 once again went into endless 'loading' loop. It was as if the powering on of the 700 created an electrical spike which was seen by the 200 and that this corrupted the loading process. Has anyone else encountered this?

I am having the same problem after nearly three years of great performance and all updates were installed successfully from first try. I've contacted the tech support team and the have offered me to send the unit back to them and there was no other way to repair it. I am very disappointed now. I live in Bulgaria and sending the unit will cost me around USD 300. Considering that I've purchased it for USD 600 it makes no sense sending it. They could simply send me the power supply board and thing would go back to normal. They really have to consider their policy for international clients.

Ask again. I live in Germany and had the same problem. They sent me the replacement board and I did the swap myself in 10 minutes. This is also described in another thread here in the forum.
Normally this shouldn´t be any problem. Perhaps the tech support guy was new. Be persistent.

I've sent them 4 emails and so far got 3 refusals: "Sorry, but you have to send your unit to us". According to Emotiva's warranty policy I must also pay for sending the repaired unit back to me. That's is crazy. I have to pay the price of the unit again in order some technician of Emotiva to replace the power supply board. I think I will start a new thread concerning this problem with the international clients.

Welcome to dealing with Emotiva when not from the 48 continental states.
They used to be more accommodating, but it appears more and more likely that they are moving to a channel model versus a direct model.
Contact Dan, Cathy or Lonnie and explain the situation with complete references to what you have experienced so far with the unit and support.
If the say no, move on to a product that is supported in your country.

Commonly the components causing the issue are 2 small capacitors on the power board. I replaced them and it all worked OK while they sent me a new (updated spec) power board. If you are OK with a soldering iron or know someone who is, it's a very simple swap and the capacitors are common spec's. Let me know your email address and I will dig up the pictures and instructions and send them to you.
Cheers Gary

Here are the symptoms: Nothing is connected to the unit. 1. Plugin the power cord and switching the back power switch - front panel button lights in amber (so far so good). 2. Pressing the power button - the amber light disappears as if the unit was turned off (no light at all - screen and button) - in about a minute or so a flashing sign (loading) appears on the display. Flashing means that only part of the letters are shown. For the next 5 minutes the sign keeps flashing and than goes to normal. Normal means the whole sign “Loading" is shown. The loading continues indefinitely unless the power is cut off.
If anyone has experienced the same problem, please let me know. I would gladly accept any suggestion you may come with.

I´m in the same situation. My UMC-200 started to flash and show part of letters and now the standby light goes on but when I press it all goes dark. I am also not realy that happy about Emotivas shipping policy regarding warranty as I dont live in the states. It is however clearly stated on the Emotiva website that shipping to and from US is the customers responsibility. (Does not make me any happier, only realise that further discussions are pointless)

(Does not make me any happier, only realise that further discussions are pointless) As mentioned previously, it is probably the power supply. I had the same issue 6 months ago, contacted Emotiva Support, we "diagnosed" over the phone and they shipped out a new power supply board the following day, which I fitted myself. Incredibly easy if you just go through simple steps, like taking a photograph or two before swapping out. Swapped old for new "et voila" all was good again, with all previous settings saved Call them and discuss, very accommodating BTW I am in the UK so faced with the same dilemma
