Btw - I didn't notice the acoustic panels in your room until I took a second look. Sorry for the short sight! Your room looks fantastic. What kind of seating are you using?

As as for the seating,,, I honestly don't even recall the name of the brand! I got them from a forum vendor over at AVS. I think his name was Roman IIRC. They were about $3.5-4k shipped for 7 seats... Again, IIRC. Lol. They're nice. Not great... But definitely comfortable, I get good feedback from folks who come over. While the construction of the frames doesn't seem robust, I've never had any issues with them. The grade of leather is ok. Definitely not fine grain merino. LOL. All in all, I'm pleased with the value for what I paid.

You mentioned earlier that you want to deaden the font wall..... For grins, I lined the wall under my screen tonight with 2" thick acoustical panels. Very noticeable difference with my center channel. Sounds much cleaner and more pronounced. I recommend giving it a try!

I got enough for the entire front wall. I'll then see how it sounds and determine if I need to do the ceiling.

Just don't deaden the room too much lol. No doubt! My current panels are a 50/50 mixture of absorbers and diffusors. The room is still quite live. So I'm going to do the front wall and then re-evaluate. Thanks bud!

Are the subs bottoming out or at they running out of power? Do you have a model #from them? Personally the JL subs are BEAUTIFUL but not worth the attached price tag... As Chad has suggested you could do some new drivers from Stereo integrity as you are in the states, some ultimax 18's would be stellar as well. They may even bolt right into your current enclosures. If in fact the chase drivers are the problem. I'm a mach 5 fanboy as well but really only recommend them to Canadians as it's more cost effective for us, to buy locally than to pay duties and shipping of the American counterparts. What are the memeasurements of the existing enclosures? So we can get an idea of air space... What is the cu ft of your room? I'd also recommend an xmc-1 and an xpa7 as they will be much better than the current pioneer, Imho. Ivor I once had the same chase subs.... with the Dayton amp they didn't last a few hoit's before the amp fried... they then sent me a beringer amp... the chase subs were not bad... I like, Fattykid did the diy subs and used mach 5 audio... I built 4 kits and used two beringer ep4000s.... even with just two built they blew the chase subs away....

So that's just the driver, correct? I'd need to get an enclosure for it? That is just a driver yes, but you should be able to use the enclosures that you already have there Guys. The mach 5 subs will blow the chase boxes apart.... very little bracing in them... get some kits from diy sound group or parts express.... It would be fun watching the boxes explode though.

I opted against the XMC-1 for the meantime. I decided I needed to do more research. So instead I purchased a McIntosh integrated amp and Focal Electra 1027 Be's for an upgrade to my two channel rig. As as for the theater.... I treated the front wall, upgraded the center with a Focal Electra 1008 Be and went with the XPA-7. And wow... Am I thrilled with the way it's sounding... And not even re-tuned! Please dont pay attention the mess of my wires. I just got done connecting everything and will do my cable dressing once everything is complete. Attachment Deleted

Update - the took advantage of the Hallween sale and purchased the XMC-1. Still working on getting it dialed in.
