Speaking of methane - I went for a 2.5 hour trail ride on a horse with my Scouts. My horse was quite gassy! Sorry to those behind me. I enjoyed the ride, as did the Scouts and other leaders with me. Mark

Portland and Seattle, it's way beyond out of control! What used to years ago be two very nice cities are now simply sickening! There are ZERO constitutional rights that that allow a citizen to break the law and beat people, burn business, block freeways, harass police and generally riot, which are all against the law.. Peaceful my ass! The first amendment allows citizens to voice there opinion, publish or participate in protests that are not against the law. The usual many hundreds of protest punks, socialists, troublemakers and Antifa agitators were at it again in Seattle tonight. It was the same old break windows, start fires, inure 12 police officers, in several different places around Seattle. Please come out and start fighting back however you can, online, talk to your friends or in person. Too many of us are hiding at home and watching this nonsense every day on TV. When voting, let's get rid of the mayors, city council and governors who do nothing to stop this, regardless of policital leanings. It is tough to combat because our children are learning this anti-American behavior as they go thru our school systems. Attacking or defunding the Police is absurd. I stopped by my local Police Department this week and gave the first officer I saw going to his car two dozen chocolate chip cookies. I told him how much I appreciated his work to protect all of us local residents. He was very pleased at my gesture, turned around and went back insider to share the cookies with the other officers and staff. Please do what you can. This is getting worse. (My post is in no way intended to be political.) Thanks, Chuckienut

Mark I'm sure your horse was quite gassy. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if your horse was also quite nervous. I read in the news recently about some of the boy scout leaders tendency to horse around when on outings!

Assault to my ears and rape of my soul. I heard today this guys audio from his car. Absolutely vile. How this would even pass for music is beyond me. Music is an escape for me, not an outright assault on my sensibilities. I see that already everywhere. Why do I want that in my music. Of course I don't. I keep much of the music that does not brag about doing bad things to people with an AK-47 and so on. I think our music is polluted and perverted into a sense where the sewer is the inspiration. Not talent but a rape anyone's sensibilities to think if the music doesn't strike the side of your head like a 2x4 with nails driven through it you are not living.
If that is case and where music is going. Count me dead and happy.
Fortunately the catalog of music is vast and grand, and much to explore without the vile and vulgar and depressing violence and more that portray our times. Some people think that is escape. I don't. If you do more power to you. By the way, just know I won't join you.

People really want you to live their life precariously as kind of a victory over your will. F them! I am me, and no one else, and I am not going to be anyone else. Just because I may be in the same technical realm as they are, does not mean I presumptively follow in their footsteps. How f'ing arrogant for anyone to think that is okay. You really want to piss me off. Congratulations I just told you the way. Be yourself and never force or convince me to be anything than what I am. If you have a problem with that? Tough!

How not to use your cassette deck for recording and playback. Technics RS-M280 for your consideration. Note the fellow here recording. Many missteps here. Firstly he does not calibrate his tape which is normal bias at the 3120 microsecond standard by the way. Using the 400hz and 8Khz tone generators and bias adjustment and record sensitivity at the front panel under the panel door that he opens. Less than a couple minutes of his time prevents him from having to shut off Dolby because it is miss tracking so badly with modulation noise loss of highs and or what most call pumping and breathing. Kind of like a noise gate poorly implemented. Just takes a bit of time to get great recordings, or no time at all to get bad recordings.

Great song when you are taping cassette or reel to reel especially when it this is it you are going no further, and it doesn't even finish further and end.

Back in 1970, I had a friend who had just graduated from HS & gone to Viet Nam with the Army. I had a no-name cassette deck and recorded a song by a local band for him after requesting it from the local FM station. I filled the rest of the tape with current pop & mailed it to him. For some reason, that cassette tape sounded AMAZING! I knew nothing at the time about tape bias, calibration, or anything else, so apparently I just happened by fortuitous circumstance to get a tape brand and composition that my deck liked. My friend said that that particular tape was the best sounding of ALL the music available to his squad, and that every time they wanted to party, that cassette was first on their list. I don't remember my tape deck make or model or the brand or composition of the tape that I'd used, but to this day, I remember the song that I recorded off the radio for him:
Wayne Brister - Thanks yet again for your service!

I remember way back in my college days. There were occasional peaceful protests. Usually it just consisted of standing or walking with signs, but no breaking laws or windows, etc. Even if I agreed with the protest subject I had no time. I carried a full academic load, Army ROTC, and working 25 hrs per week plus full time in the summer to pay my own tuition at a private university.
Now days the phrase peaceful protest in the oxymoron of all time! Not exactly sure this is what Mr. Zimmerman had in mind!

Consider: Secret Gestapo and neo Nazi instigators posing as protesters exacerbate the problems. 150k still dead. Wear a mask, save an elder's life! Not trying to be political.😷
