I've never been a big C&W fan. Much more R&R over the years. Grew up on R&R in the 60s & 70s. Best music ever by the way...😀
However, I have enjoyed some C&W over the yeaars so not totally inept!! My wife loves C&W, knows the singers and bands and has been trying to win me over for 22 years. 😂 We just got back from attending the Grand Ole Opry last night and touring the Ryman Auditorium yesterday, I can now say that I may not be converted but I am much more tainted!!
I totally enjoyed both events and we will go back to the Opry again. It was not a concert, it was an experience.
Last comment (sorry if this appears political, it's not meant to be). Lee Greenwood was one of the performers and was amazing and as patriotic as anyone can get. Not only as a musician, but what he is doing for veterans. His foundation has built over 100 houses for the most severly injured vets. He bleeds red, white & blue. So in gratitude, the current POTUS removed him from the National Endowment for the Arts. A position Greenwood has held since 2008. I just do not agree with that move.
We had a blast and we will be back!! 😀

In the are you just dense files. I told a person why I did what I did in a process and was very clear and that it works for me. He comes back and says the same thing not adding to my response at all. Now this guy is not stupid, but dense? Lead is in danger of being surpassed. Love this guy. I really really really do. Just when I explain something to you clearly move on and progress the conversation. Ever have that happen to you? Truly annoying.

The new Schiit amp looks interesting : It does 200 watts into 8 ohms and 350 watts into 4 ohms. In the FAQ section for the amp, it says this: Okay, fine. What about this 350W rating into 4 ohms? Why doesn’t it double into 4 ohms? I thought that was good.
Here’s a horrible truth: no amp doubles its output into 4 ohms. None. Nada. Zip. Some might get close, but when you factor in transformer resistance and saturation, choke resistance, emitter resistance (especially in a differential amplifier where that’s 2X a factor), then an actual doubling into 4 ohms aintgonnahappen.com. So what do you folks in the Lounge think about this? Schiit is saying that NO amp doubles the output from 8 ohms to 4 ohms, yet I've seen specs for various amps, including Emo's HC-1, that show a doubling of the watts from 8 to 4 ohms. |

I believe its because IF the channels are 'shared' on the bank of power caps vs independent sides for all electronics then you won't get double the watts. Well I don't really understand what you said but you said "channels" so would this apply to a monoblock? |

Of course it can be done if the manufacturer chooses to over engineer enough to do so and to understate the 8 ohm power specification slightly so that the double at 4 ohm can be realized. Most manufacturers want to publish the absolute maximum power rating at 8 ohms, however. It's probably easier to do with a SWPS type power supply because of the lack of an expensive large transformer.
