Don't lose sight of the fact Emotiva stated they have 26 new products coming out. 16 have been announced. Do the math. XPR-1 or lie XPR-5 or lie And why never made a XPR-3 either? 400w/chanel 3300va PS w/ 240,000 cap.

It seems like XPR-2, the last of the XPR family, has now disappeared from the site. emotiva.com/products/emotiva/amplifiers-0Awesome amps, too bad they didn't get the attention they deserve. Mine is not going anywhere! same here.

I am glad I purchased my 2 XPR amps when i did, they are a step above the xpa 2 amps for clarity, bass definition and sound staging. agreed……

With XPR line gone - I'm still trying to figure out the upgrade hierarchy. I'm running an XPA-5 Gen2 and XPA-2 Gen 1. With XPR, it was an upgrade thought. Now I can't piece together from what we've heard, what gear Emo has that is a natural progression for XPA owners. They would say get two gen 3... Stuff three of the bridged 500w monoblocks in one and four regular 350w in another So now u go from 300 to 500 on mains and 200 to 350 on remaining all with this new 3300w power supply. This is their selling point but I agree they need a small niche XPR series my guess is that in order to make a profit on an XPR series, they are going to need to reduce the weight (because of shipping concerns) and increase the price notably (not my preference). but a newly revised XPR-1 at 55 pounds (with the new switching power supplies) and $2500 a piece would still sell i think. $5000 for SOTA mono blocks is rather cheap in high end audio circles. just my 2 cents……… tchaik……….

I think if Emotiva is looking to get into Bryston, Parasound, Classe territory pricing wise they had better improve upon the five year warranty as well. Bryston for one offers a twenty year warranty.

When Dan described the Mono Block Blades for the new XPA Gen 3 he said it is technology borrowed from the XPR with improvements. Could anyone here think this may be a improvement on the sound quality of the XPR series ? 300 watt Gain Blocks should be plenty of power. This is only the beginning module. Dan said there will be a 500 watt into 8 ohm module. There will be a stereo module and I believe I heard dual balanced modules.
Is this about the XPR having better sound quality than the XPA ?
Is it the higher output wattage of the XPR that is precious to you ?
Is it both ?
If the XPA Gen 3 uses the technology from the XPR and sounds as good or better and you can get it with the number of modules that you need and it has plenty of power for your needs and it cost less than the XPR series to do that. To many and's !
Always look on the bright side of life !

And you pay dearly for it. I auditioned a Bryston 4B-SST2 ($6000) before buying a XPA-2. I wasn't very impressed with the Bryston considering the price level.

Yeah, my buddy has the 4BSST and I really did not notice much difference between that and my XPA-2 either. Just saying with as good as the XPR line was, if they are looking to double the price in the new top line they should increase the warranty too.

After having my twins for so long now I think only twin sisters (tubes) will do from Emotiva. I know, someday Team Lonnie and crew will produce an affordable mono tube in Emotiva's great tradition, both meticulously beautiful, powerful, well thought out and a tremendous value. Till that day,I feel, all my MONOBLOCK dreams are satisfied. All that being said, y'all are welcome to come to me with a great deal on a great sounding set of tubes at a tremendous value and Im sure it would take too much arm twisting. There are a few here on our forum that I would seek advice from if such a thing were to transpire.
