The feedback sounds almost like someone like myself who upgraded from XPA to XPR. The refinement is real when you have the necessary components to reveal them.

Good burn in Explanation!
Regarding the Feedback it sadly isn´t a direct comparison, since the guy compares with his Memory of an amp he didn´t like, but still a good start.

Here's a quote directly from one of our new Gen 3 customers... I just received it on our messaging system. "Greetings... got my Gen 3-2channel early this morning.....running it non-stop for the last 8hrs....I know its not even close to a small burn in but I had to take a sneak peak listen.....running thru my Harmonic Light Dac to a BAT tubed preamp to a pair of magnepan 1.7i with two vandersteen subs and don't want to get too excited....but WOW this amp sounds Great!!!...had Gen 2(wasn't the the biggest fan and sold it) but this is a whole different beast!!...that's it for now....have more to say after I give it a full sun burn in....TRUTH!" Sounds like we're off to a good start!! Cheers, Big Dan Big Dan is it possible to get the XPA GEN3 7 Channel shipped overseas to Sweden ? I know that the old XPA GEN2 7 Channel amp on a Pallet was Usa only.

Got my shipment notice today. Tracking says Monday delivery. So I will just get to look at it for a bout a week before I can get to installing. Going to watch The Force awakens today on my current Adcom and then re watch it on the Emotiva

I will miss the 80lb monster amps that made you feel like you bought something special. I think this design is a big mistake on Emotiva's part. There are a lot of audio purists like me who have bought Emotiva stuff that won't go near this. I'm glad I got my XPA-2 before they stopped making them. The only amps I would consider from this company now are the mono blocks.

Should be possible since the amp is a lot lighter now and lighter than a Gen 2 XPA-5.

My XPA-2 G2 is for sale on CL. When its sells I'll buy an XPA-2 G3 and I bet it will sound fantastic. The power supply doesn't worry me in the least.

It's not like you've gone from a 2 channel amp to a 3, or double the power. It's like trading a 2015 Porsche 911 with 2016 Porsche 911. Not a Turbo, or a RS, but the exact same Porsche series.

Similar, but the Gen 3 is expandable.......... and it also has an XPR amp topology. Not that different - but it's certainly modular.

(1) Its half the weight (2) The G3 will sound more like the XPR line (3) because I can (4) some day I may decide true surround sound is better than just having fronts and rears from the same signal

Personally that point by itself would have been much funnier. Because how many times have you seen a discussion like this? Q: Why did you buy that new XYZ 4000 watt amp? You don't need the power, it's overkill and wastefull! A: Because I can

They weigh much less than speakers, power amplifiers and a 60" plasma TV.

It's a funny thing to see people make hard decisions and assumptions about products they have never seen, touched, or heard. This is something that I really try hard not to do, especially as I get older... I remember when the first IPhone came out. I hated it, so much so that I retuned the first one the second day I owned it. I never gave it a chance to show me what it could really do for me. I missed my tactile keys and would not even try to learn the new keyboard. But then I spent a few months or so watching my friends have their personal lives transformed by all of the cool things their new phones could do. It was mind blowing. I relented and got another one and gave it a proper chance. After living with it and getting used to it, I couldn't imagine going back to the old way of doing things. Wow!!! What the heck was I thinking?? The same is true for new new technologies. We hold all of these notions in our heads about about this and that, and then one by one, we have our assumptions challenged. In many cases, our preconceived notions about what is good and bad are overturned by the facts and personal experience. Can you imagine an all analog world today? An all tube world?? I can't. Everything has it's place, but something is not automatically good or bad just because it's different, or new, or doesn't weigh a lot! Ha!! All I can tell you to do is listen to our new amplifiers and you'll understand why we made the change. This was a BIG decision to make and was not done lightly. We're not crazy and we did not do it so save money. We wanted to make a better product. The EASY way to go was to stay in the iron age and build boat anchors. But that is old thinking, and today it is definitely not the best way to build a high power amplifier. The proof is in the pudding. You'll see. Cheers, Big Dan

Now that we've had your wisdom - Can you have Lonnie stop by??
I miss the good old days where he would chime in and calm the techies by speaking numbers and data and stuff.
I assume he's still hugely involved with the design and testing and everything.
I miss hearing him brag about how much he liked whatever he just designed.

Cheers, Big Dan ok dan, i will give you the benefit of the doubt. problem is i have an XPR-2 and XPR-5 and i want 2 new mono blocks with this technology that has the power (and Looks) of the XPR-1. so whaddaya say….. an XPR-1 gen 3 with 1000 watts at 8 ohms, 1750 at 4 ohms and 3000 at 2 ohms. what would that take? A SMPS power supply double the size and power of the one used in these new amps and larger amp modules with a total weight of maybe 55 to 60 lbs? now doesn't that sound sweet? tchaik……………….
