Hard to say which will actually be for sale first as I haven't seen any BasX availability dates. Then there's also the speakers/subs.

I'm missing what the scoop is? Wasn't most of this discussed here and reported over the weekend at Axpona?

Maybe people around here have finally learned not to get too excited when Emotiva announces a product that might come out next week...or 2018.

Hard to say which will actually be for sale first as I haven't seen any BasX availability dates. Jessica's announcement a few days ago said that the BasX line is currently in production. I would think that means it will be here first.

No bitterness here Jim ; if anything Ime distracted by the xmc1 atmos announcement ; maybe the emp1 has a competitor depending on release dates to get a taste of object audio Its nice to see more people get the chance of employing separates at such great price points with better power amp stages .

If these are, as stated, in production, a few questions should be easy to answer:
* Are they being produced in the US or off-shore? That will give us an estimate as to when we might actually see them in the market.
* Along the same lines, how about some photos of the rear panel, remote, and maybe an "inside" shot, as well.
* What is the means for updating? "Push direct"? Via USB? Via direct computer connection with a loader?
Inquiring minds want to know...

Jessica's announcement a few days ago said that the BasX line is currently in production. I would think that means it will be here first. It could mean that, but to state or assume these intimations as fact isn't the wisest approach.

rbk13 ; dont know how accurate this is but the emersa line is more complicated and the basex wouldnt be too disimilar to the umc with hdmi 2.0 chipset not to mention the amps being class a/b not d with new pwm circuitry say. Sure, but you don't how far back they've started on the Emersa and so it actually could be closer to completion. My point is, until they give dates or state what's next, I'm not interested in speculating. Inevitably ends poorly around here.

I know not get annoyed by these guys but you get people that don't understand what it takes to create a product and get it into production. It is a ton of work and steps and people think it is the easiest thing to do. Can't please everyone.

Those guys don't have any idea how to run a business especially when you are "small" trying to compete with huge corporations that have massive amounts of money to burn.

Here's my guess, just a guess, BasX is much easier to get to market as it utilises the well known and undestood (to Emotiva engineering and production) U series and X series chassis for processors, pre amps and power amps. Whereas the Emersa line is a brand new set of chassis, albeit similar to the DC-1, that looks to me to require a far higher level of manufacturing and production prototyping and quality control testing. I also expect that BaseX will be the volume line, selling more than the other Emotiva ranges, not necessarily individual components, but the whole range.
Another guess, the BaseX line will be made in China, so once signed off I'd expect big (in Emotiva terms) production runs. Hence rapid stock build and supply chain fill rates. These easily offset the longer (than made locally) shipping times in many cases.
Cheers Gary

Oh come on Nick, the whole process shouldn't take more than a weeks time from inception to production. Any longer is just so unacceptable! On a serious note, unless one has actually walked at least a few miles in the shoes of the fine team at Emotiva, then one has no realistic idea of what it takes to bring a product to market. I've learned to tune those out that "Think" they know, just know that there are many here that appreciate what the Emotiva team does so keep on keeping on!

A note on release dates:
Hi everyone, as you are all aware, we have some exciting products coming out this year!! We are working tirelessly to bring some fantastic new products to the market. We are excited about where we are heading as a company, and we can't wait to share more details about the new gear.
I am very involved in the product launches and also how information is shared about Emotiva and our products. I know we haven't always been perfect at this. We've missed deadlines, shared too much too soon, and changed plans entirely. I think our enthusiasm for what we are doing, while we mean well, can sometimes lead to disappointment. We really learned our lesson. The last thing we want to do is disappointment anyone, or worse, damage our reputation with our customers.
That being said, we've learned a lot. We really want to share as much as we can, and we do, when we are ready. I'd kindly like to point out that so far, anything we've announced for 2016 is coming to market as planned. A lot of people are referencing our CES product announcement, when we talked about our new product lines for the first time. Like other manufacturers, CES is a kickoff for new product announcements for 2016 calendar year. It was meant to be a preview of what's coming for the entire year. We specifically did not mention dates, aside from early 2016/first quarter for the Gen 3 amps, which we hit (yay!). So if you go back and read our CES press release from December/January, there were no ship dates.
Our Emersa, Airmotiv, and BasX lines are all progressing according to plan. We'll share more information and details on how to pre-order as soon as it's available. I just wanted to chime in to tell you that we aren't tardy yet! So far we're on schedule. if for any reason we do fall behind, you'll hear it from us first. We try to be as transparent and honest as possible.
So stay tuned! I know it's fun to speculate when things will hit the market from us. Just know that we are trying to be honest with ourselves and our customers. We've learned from our past and we are trying to do what's right by everyone.
Ok, back to work!
