Was there no mention of the 2.0a upgrade board. I would think that would be a good add on when the Atmos is done.

It's in the previous post. Yes but not on the web page LSC referenced. Sorry, didn't realize you were referring to the MultiPort HDR board (I missed the 'a'). Keith's post that I linked above explains what's known.

Well it looks like most of us will be paying for the upgrades.
For me I think the best thing would be wait until all the upgrades come out ( 2017 ) and them use my UFL (25%) to buy a brand new one, then sell the one I have now @ say $1500.00aud.
cheers

It's in the previous post. Yes but not on the web page LSC referenced. If anything the web page is a bit understated ; perhaps while details and licensing are worked out mention will be made eventually of DSU and DTS-X neural processing too as they come with the package ? Will be interesting to see if pl2x survives [as the new algorithms are a replacement] or they are left as is like yamaha have done . Exciting times

All in all, this is fairly revolutionary and demonstrates why so many of us are Emotiva buyers / users / listeners / supporters / fans
I am very reassured by Keith's announcement in this forum and the information on the XMC-1 product page.
I have no doubt it can be delivered but I hope that there are not the niggles that some still have with the current DSP.
I do worry a little that timeframes are provided as we know to take them with a pinch of salt..... Early 2017 for the new DSP engine with 7.2.4 Atmos and DTS-X and possibly all-channels Dirac 96/24 and possibly Unison and possibly more than one Dirac preset sounds optimistic?
There is only one other feature of the DSP I might like that has not been mentioned - DSD over PCM decoding via HDMI (DOP)

Sounds like a good plan though.

So if I buy yours for $A1500 then take it with me for servicing (while on holidays) and spend $A400 + $A800 that's $A2700. So I'll be $A600 in front and your XMC-1 (now mine) will have been back to Emotiva for the upgrades plus a factory check over. The bonus, since I'll be getting something I already own serviced, I won't be paying any GST on the way back, so that's another $A330 I'll save. Seriously, let me know when you want to sell it. Cheers Gary

Better wait and see if Emotiva considers the new version a new generation processor, and thus eligible for the Upgrade For Life. If it's still the same generation, I don't believe the discount is available.

I really pretty sure of this statement.

If it's still the same generation, I don't believe the discount is available. I thought the updated XMC-1 for 2017 will be a Gen 3. So that would make it a newer generation over the current Gen 2. The UFL entitles one to buy two of the same generation at a 25% discount. I bought two one for myself and one for a friend.
