Take some of emotiva's best value in speakers and market it in different configurations. Nice product idea. I still haven't found a better value than the airmotiv 4 for speakers. One of the best buys in audio all around.

So Now Airmotiv will be along to tell your music as it can be with your power amplifier. Airmotiv will be more present than ever. That is great news Keith.

Will these "passives" sound better than the pairs of Airmotiv 5s and 6s that I already have and adore? I wonder how long it would take us to find that out.

They nailed the Active crossover on the Airmotiv Monitors and I have a feeling that no matter what external amplifier or class amplification you feed the new passives, they will not perform any better. The Airmotiv B1 with the Airmotiv 5s will be the only ones that can be compaired. I have a feeling that if the cabinets and bracing on the new T-1 are built like Emotiva's Airmotiv powered monitors are and the new Kevlar woven cones are an improvement on the polypropolene composite cone of the Airmotiv powered monitors, they will kick the ELAC's ass !

I suppose that partially answers my question as to how the "passives" will sound as compared to the powered airmotivs...i.e the sound of the "passives" may be more variable and harder to pin down, since they will be more dependent on the amp that is driving them in any particular given context. Does that sound right?

Does that sound right? Also remember the driver cone material is different on the new Passives. Kevlar woven cones vs polypropolene composite cone of the Airmotiv powered monitors. The Active crossover design of the powered monitors give them an edge with the amplification. The little class AB in the powered monitors might appear to sound inferior to something like pure class A but I doubt seriously if you are going to get a better sound from external amps and passive speakers vs powered with active crossover. The new drivers may be the deciding factor.

We will have a ton of products hitting at once! Good to hear, I am currently borrowing a PT-7020C4 from a buddy and the HDMI issues are driving me up the wall, I have had the XMC but needed to sell it due to budget constraints as the wife was off work for a year with no income and the EMP-1 has peaked my interest as I really really liked the Dirac on the XMC-1 but being in Canada the XMC-1 is very far out of reach for me money wise and if the EMP-1 is $899 and I can use my Upgrade For Life discount I may be able to pick on up, that's still a maybe though haha Awesome to hear of the upcoming Airmotiv passive line though, many have been waiting on these and I'm sure they will sell like hotcakes

Ia m still hoping the T-10? or whichever model they go with....comes out as well. I want larger more forceful speakers. Hopefully with two eight inch or two ten inch woofers. Of course if this is no longer on the menu, they can go ahead and make me a single pair...

When they appear on the website will they have that little button that says 'Reserve Yours'? Or will they be available for shipping immediately? I guess we'll know soon enough.
One teaser after another teaser but we're getting closer!
I may have to try a pair of the new AM bookshelf speakers. I just can't imagine any bookshelf speaker sounding any better than my trusty ERM-1's. Excellent speaker and tough to beat/replace at anything up to $500 per pair IMO.
