Just keep digging into your pockets and keep buying little sorround speakers. I bet you five years from now there is going to be like a Atmos dfx or Atmos virtual xyz or some crap like that.

Name me one accepted high end manufacturer that makes both speakers and electronics. It is usually on or the other Some might say McIntosh but it is their electronics not speakers that are really sota Aren't Anthem and Paradigm from the same manufacturering family?

You DO know atmos is so much more than just overhead pans right?
Yes of course my answer was over simplification, just saying it should not be impossible to get overhead speakers that are not the same brand yet still deliver the goods respectably enough.

I would like to believe the new immersive audio formats are here to stay but look at how 3D in the home utterly failed.
Really?? As long as Ridley Scott films EVERYTHING in 3D I'm a happy guy. Alien Covenant next year...can't wait

I can't really think of any off the top of my head who have both speaker and electronics under one name that would also fall into the category of high end.

Has Emotiva weighed in on if a timbre matched set of Atmos ceiling speakers might be in the cards? I am about to purchase a full speaker set of "cheaper" speakers for my new theater vs the Seaton setup I had in my last theater at my old house, but want to keep them all in the same family. I planned on pulling the trigger on a full Goldenear setup in the coming month or so but the new Airmotivs seem like a good challenger... but not if there is no possibility of an on ceiling, angled speaker.

Nice to know I'm not the only "crazy" one who cares about having timber/voice matched ceiling speakers for Atmos. I'd love for them to chime in about potential availability at some point and if it's a "no", for them to opine on the option of using the E1's mounted to or recessed into the ceiling.

Alien Covenant next year...can't wait Bill Funny you mention Ridley Scott, dude was way ahead of his time back in the 80,s...the sound track in one of his best " Blade Runner" at the time there was nothing even close to "surround sound" and anyone who had a/b speaker output on a two channel stereo and ran the audio from a VCR stereo unit, and had 4 speakers running like I did knew Ridley Scott was ahead of his time..Ridley and his brother Tony produce that TV show Numb3rs the surround on that tv show is pretty damn good for a tv show..

Just keep digging into your pockets and keep buying little sorround speakers. I bet you five years from now there is going to be like a Atmos dfx or Atmos virtual xyz or some crap like that. true statement, 5.1 is all I will do..I have heard 7.2 and yes it is better than 5.1 also heard a 9.2 setup..not much better than a 7.2 setup...so i can only imagine what a 11.2 setup would sound like. When they came out with new surround formats every year I stopped at 5.1 I did the 7.2 setup spent thousands on that set up,Nad pre pro, emo amps, LSi the whole line with 4 LSifx surounds two subs and on and on. Moved and couldn't use half that crap..lost my ass trying to sell off most of that gear...Now? a very modest 5.1 system think I got a total of 1500 in it and sounds pretty damn good. Never again will I drink da Kool-Aid of Nirvana of high-end audio..over the year all the way back to the early seventies the money I have put into audio video I could have bought a home for the money spent in audio/video gear..I bet if someone started a "AA" for audiophile and audio enthusiast, yes there be a lot of people in that club....I can see it now, hi my name is Bill and I drank da Kool-Aid I am an audioholic...lolol..just saying...smooth...
