Just saw this in a CEDIA report, with 11 channels they must be using some of the stereo modules. Maybe they already demo'd these at EmoFest, but it does seem they're getting close (I know they reported "on the boat"). "Dropped in to visit Emotiva here at CEDIA and they were premiering a full on 7.4.4 Dolby ATMOS theater setup that was controlled by their upcoming RMC-1 Reference Processor. Power was provided by one of Emotiva’s modular XPA power amps configured with 11 channels of amplification." Here's the page I was reading: hometheaterhifi.com/features/show-reports-film-festivals-concerts/cedia-2017-show-report-day-1-coverage/They have been demoing with stereo blades in prior shows but they should in in TN in the next few weeks I believe At Emofest, the word from Emotiva was that they were on the boat. Net, very close... Mark

Well, for 9.1.6 this is useless as 14 is the maximum speaker count on 1 box! Just kidding. But I still have an issue though if I decide to go from 9.1.4 to 9.1.6 as I have an XPR-5 and a Marantz 8-channel amp (hence 2 channels short). So I have 2 options instead of the Marantz: two XPA-5 (lots of power on every speaker, they can handle it but it's still overkill) or the rational thing: 4 standard amps + 3 stereo's which amounts to 10 speakers with the 6 ceiling speakers powered by the stereo blades. What would you do?

What would you do? Well if you could find two used XPA-5's in Europe and have enough room for three big amps that could save a lot on shipping and import costs (and have power to spare). But if you're going to buy something new, I'd go with your second option, giving you a nice complement of channels in a single package.

FYI all of the various build options are now available on the website. Still pissed that the stereo modules aren't 130-150 watts/channel and I still don't understand why they went so low on the power - the power supply can easily handle more wattage. Really screws up my plans and forces me to buy an extra amp.

If you are using the stereo modules for objects then the 75/w a channel will be plenty....I got three stereo blades and they work fine for atmos speakers...

Are you still using stereo modules for atmos channels? Are you still happy? I looking to go XPA10. Since I am using DR3 for LCR..

I use the XPA 10(4 regular blades for sides and rears and 3 stereo blades with 4 of 6 channels running tops) and I am very happy
