Point is? 'OTHER' tells me NOTHING. As if the only valid choices were the listed ones.
That is bad survey design. That you can answer ALL of 14 ways? Doesn't help
I don't have an exact number but a proper survey should be designed to limit such 'other' response to a very low value.
The ONE tick box I see that helps? The choice for DIY.
For example: In a survey of amplifiers? Question 1: Tube or SS question 2. Integrated or Monoblock or 2ch or more than 2 Question 3. If integrated, is it designed for HT use? Question 4 Does your preamp, if NOT designed for HT use, have Bass Management?
I'd like it to be maybe 12 questions or less. After 1 pass of fine-tuning, I'm sure it's gonna yield MEANINGFUL information.

So send Rory a message and tell him.
I don't think most of us really care about how good or bad the survey is... it's not our survey.
At the very least you can see which listed brands ARENT popular.

Very True:
This survey would have been better if everyone were limited to 2 responses. Your Fave and #2Fave speakers.
Should I know Rory?
I see 390 votes listed by 198 responders. Works out to about 2 votes per, though that ain't carved in stone.

Hey, sorry not sure what speaker you are linking to, but these 107's: kef.com/html/en/explore/about_kef/museum/1980s/Reference_Series_107/index.htmlI bought mine already "restored"...I paid at the high end of the market pricing for it...but the "typical" issues were all fixed...woofers re-foamed, ferrofluid re-filled in the tweeters, speakers were re-capped (new capacitors), grilles were re-done with new cloth, KEF Kube was "upgraded" with better op-amps...I think that's it, but there may have been even more done. They should be "good to go" until the foams need re-done again in 20 years or so...or maybe these are a newer type of foam that will last longer... Well worth it! I think these speakers are likely "lifers"/keepers unless there is some amazing technological breakthrough. They're just great all-arounders...can play any genre, get VERY loud, plenty good at low volume as well, great for home theater too! I don't see ever getting rid of the 107's or my Quad 57's...unless like I said, there is some huge breakthrough in technology or unless I desperately need cash. I've heard those two speakers do things that I haven't heard any other speakers do (NOT saying I've heard them all). Currently KEF - 107's and 103.2's (just sold LS50's) - the 107's are in my "main" system. As in these KEF 107's? Did you have to have the driver surrounds re-foamed or are those the type that don't degrade?

Hey, haven't owned any Emotiva speakers yet, but not opposed to it. I know that I like the KEF sound though...accurate but not "sterile"...plenty lively and musical...nice highs and mids, satisfying (but not thunderous) bass...just really pleasant all-around speakers. If you are in the market for some new speakers, I'd at least give KEF an audition. Currently KEF - 107's and 103.2's (just sold LS50's) - the 107's are in my "main" system...powered by Emotiva! XDA-2 DAC and UPA-200 amp. Had a USP-1 preamp until recently, replaced by Juicy Music Blueberry xTreme w/Cream, tube preamp. and Quad ESL 57's - also powered by Emotiva! Until recently. Trying out a Monarchy SM 70 now with the Quads. Actually the "Emotiva" power was a Sherbourn PA 2-50 little desktop amp. The Quads don't need a ton of power, so it was perfect. Only had the Monarchy a day. Think it might be better, but so far it's not a HUGE difference, which I think speaks highly of the Sherbourn, since the Monarchy is supposed to be one of the better amp pairs with the Quads...and it costs 4 times as much as the Sherbourn. And the Sherbourn has a lot more "features!" How does KEF compare to emotiva speakers?

I am amazed to read some of the sniping on here. Do you realize how many speaker companies there are? No way could I have fit them all into a poll that would provide comprehensible results, since there are always the odd few who have Totems, or Dunlavies, or Vapor Audio, or Thiel, or insert whatever lesser-known high end brand you care to. The objective of the poll was to get a quick survey of the competitive landscape with respect to some of the most popular brands mentioned on other internet forums for home theater enthusiasts. Your speaker brand wasn't listed? I'm sorry for offending you so deeply that you felt compelled to insult me. Just click "Other", maybe make a post with the speaker brands you own, and let's move on with life.
