I make all my cables - speaker, xlr, trigger, IR, network, cable tv etc. TechFlex gives a very professional finish. Cranks up the perceived value, people think they are the uber expensive cable. I like it because you know what you are getting, wire and connector. If you get into it a cheap heat gun is a great purchase.

I've made quite a few RCA cables. Always use cable pants! I've heard the current trend is for cable pants that are pulled down and don't fully cover the cable and expose part of it. Is that true? Only if you care for those kind of aesthetics. My cables are not visible from the front of the cabinet.

I am re-posting this as my original post the pics were not working and I needed to fix the linksHere are some pics of my bi wire speaker wires I made for my system. I used Mogami 2921 Quad Core wire this is extremely good wire love the sound quality, it's extremely soft and flexible high quality wire. I used black techflex, 4 leg cable pants on the speaker end, GLS locking banana connectors and red and black heat shrink tubing. Techflex, bananas and cable pants GLS locking bananas Techflex I used 3/8" black Clean Cut Techflex Mogami 2921 quad core wire Cable before banana connectors were added Amp end Speaker end with cable pants At amp with bananas installed

Very nice look. Unfortunately my house is prewired with I think 16awg wire in the walls. So the front of my Theater are I would say about a 25 foot or less from my amp. I know most people are against that but the real question is would it be really worth it to rip up the wall just to run 10 guage

So at a rough estimate. I would need about 50 feet cable per my front 3 speakers .
So the question is now.
Do I buy 3 50 foot single RCA cables?
Or 3 50 foot speaker cable runs ?

Or 3 50 foot speaker cable runs ? speaker wire, buy 150ft and make them yourself. It will be the exact required length. Either Belden 5T00UP or Canare 4S11. The Canare 4S11 is quad cable so you would tie two together and it could be bi-amped in the future.

No need Mogami 2921 bi wired equals the wire gauge equivalent of 10 gauge, far more than my longest 16 foot run needs and the sound quality is superior to any other wire I have used. Mogami wire has definitely become my favorite wire because of its high quality construction and excellent sound quality. I also use Mogami 2549 and 2932 8 channel snake cable for my XLR connections using Neutrik black/gold XLR connectors (Neutrik NC3FXX-B Gold XLR-Female connector and Neutrik NC3MXX-B Gold XLR-Male connector). I make my own power cords with Belden wire (I forget the wire part number) using Marinco 8215 Hospital-Grade and Marinco 320IEC15 IEC connectors. I make my own trigger cables (with misc wire) and Neutrik 3.5mm connectors. My next cable project will be to make RCA cables using Mogami 2803 wire and probably Vampire Wire RCA connectors.
