My Computer is no longer recognizing my XDA-2
Everything was working last night, get up this AM, Power up, and nothing.
The XDA-2 isnt receiving a signal via USB.
Ive unplugged, rebooted, and get errors saying USB device not recognized...reconnect and If problem percsist then USB device may be dammaged.
I uninstalled the drivers and when I go to reinstall, I get a message from the setup saying "Pleas connect the CMEDIA USB 2.0 Device"
I've tried all of my USB ports with the same result.
I've switched USB cables, no luck.
Any thoughts?
HELP PLEASE!!!

Uhhh....I'm stumped! He did everything I would have done! Well...try restoring your windows to a date to just before it started happening? Oh and unplug the power from the XDA-2 and plug it back in.

Try hooking up a different USB source (like another computer) to the XDA-2. If it still doesn't solve the issue, you may need to get an RMA from Emotiva. This is what C Media controls...

I uninstalled the drivers and when I go to reinstall, I get a message from the setup saying "Pleas connect the CMEDIA USB 2.0 Device" When you received the above message, was your XDA-2 connected to the computer?

Did you have Windows updates installed recently? If so, you could have a bad driver for the XDA-2. It is possible.

Yes. I then proceeded to reboot. Unplug and and reconnect. Same result every time. XDA-2 is'nt being recognized by the computer any more.

XDA-2 is'nt being recognized by the computer any more. Windows 10 or something else? I'm sure you already know this but the driver for Win 10 is different than the one for Win 7, 8 & 8.1. So in case, you by mistake try Win 10 driver for non Win 10 or vice versa, it may be the reason why the new driver installs fail to see the DAC. If you happen to have a Mac or something running Linux, try with that and if that still fails, it's not driver related and most certainly something with the DAC.

Used this link for the Windows 10 Drivers.
Same result.

Dang, dude - something's wrong! Same errors with another computer? (I'm assuming that you DID use a different cable too?) - If so, then it's time to call Emotiva support.

I've tried everything...and yes, I tried a different cable too! Its very odd since it was working just fine Friday night and then.....nothing

Failures are often sudden. For example, you're alive until you have a heart attack...
So, it's "progressive like a light switch" - either on or not.

Did you unplug the XDA-2 from the power and plug it back in before trying out the recent stuff? If so...then likely there is a problem with the XDA-2. I remember there was a windows 10 admin permission problem but I don't think that's the issue here.

Update:
I called first thing this AM about this issue and was advised to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement and try installing the drivers again. No luck.

If you receive the "Please connect your C-Media Device" message when trying to install the drivers, even after you connect it, and you've tried a different cable and port, then it sounds like a hardware problem with the USB interface in the XDA-2.
Call in again; you'll need an RMA.
