Hello friends, im Werner from Germany - an ex Rock musician. I owned many dozends of Speakers in my life up to pricings around 30.000 Euro a pair. In the last 3 decades i prefered horn loudspeakers from Tannoy and Klipsch. However, a good old friend of mine, Martin Dittmeier from MD Sound was recommending Emotiva products to me. First i bought for my third cellar Equipment a TA-100 Receiver and was overwhelmed, after that i bought the PT 100 and A 150 - fantastic products - and i also bought the T 2 Speakers. I never heard such a good Sound for so less Money. You can read my first Impressions and further reviews and see Pictures in my Forum: (you must scroll down) www.boards-4you.de/wbb10/1426/thread.php?postid=37167#post37167Im Kellerkind in that Forum. I think the Emotiva T 2 Speakers belong to the best stuff independant from Price - you can get. Last month i had the Eisa Award winner Q Acoustics Concept 500 in my house for around 4500 Euro. I clearly prefer the acoustic Performance of the cheap Emotivas. Even after 2 weeks i can not decide between my Klipsch RP 280 and the Emotiva T 2 - so both will stay:) The Emotiva has so wonderful Sound colours . Only with old Metal Music i do not like the highs the Emotiva - Whitesnakes Album Saints and Sinners do Sound strange for me. The opposite with newer productions like Metallicas Hardwired - never heard it so good. Though i own many Speakers in the Moment like Klipsch RF 7 MK 2, RP 280, RB 81 MK 2, RP 160, Hans Deutsch Retro 311 , Retro 304 and so on...... i clearly will give not my Emotiva away. Im in love with this Speakers, only would wish a better terminal - my banana plugs are all too Long. By the way, im so full of enthusiasm for Emotiva products, i will test and perhaps buy the bigger amps in soon. I also founded a german Emotiva Forum in the last days- www.boards-4you.de/wbb10/1426/board.php?boardid=63&sid=Perhaps it will be from interest for Germans - ist too difficult for me to write in english. My english is too bad. Cheers

Welcome Werner! And, your english is excellent...but cool to hear of the German Emotive Forum!
I have lived in the US but worked officially in Germany for the past 8 years until I recently retired. As such, I used to travel to Germany 1-2 times a year (near Frankfurt). I developed many good friends there and many are into high end audio. So, one joy of my visit was spending time listening to their systems. Not that I am retired, I will visit there less but am keeping in touch with my friends there.
What part of Germany are you in?
Mark

Hello Mark,
thanks for being welcome.
Im living only around 50 kilometres far from Frankfurt, so you would be heartly invited here .
By the way, i saw that the links i gave to you in my last posting did only work for members of my Forum - i changed that now - so every guest can read and see the pictures.
Tomorrow i will try out the T 2 Speakers in my big living Room with my very fat german ASR Emitter amplifier:)
Cheers
Werner

My wife went to Germany and she said they liked southern gospel music! Glad you are enjoying your Emotiva gear!

Wow,
thank you so much Hemster and Garbulky.
I will try everything to make Emotiva products more known here in Germany.
The relation between price and sound is incredible!
I really felt in love!
Yepp.
No joke.
Cheers Werner (who loves drinking Klosterfrau Melissengeist and like Arnold Schwarzenegger - OBSTLER)

Takes awhile to get used to speakers. Break in is bull crap. I could not disagree more. I have heard AND measured the effects of loudspeaker break-in. Loudspeakers are mechanical devices with flexible components, and those components do undergo changes through the first part of their flex life. The best way to break in a woofer or subwoofer is to give it a low frequency signal (~15-20 Hz) of significant drive level, about 10-20 volts RMS, so that the woofer is moving visibly but not making noises (or smells) of distress, and the amplifier is not overheating or clipping, and then let the system play that way for 24 hours. If the noise is excessive, you can connect one speaker out-of-phase. The system should be monitored during this period for signs of distress. After that 24 hours, further changes in suspension compliance are pretty minimal, but subtle improvements will continue to be heard through the midrange and tweeter until the speaker has reached about 100 hours of play time. The folded ribbon takes a chill pill, and the midrange becomes slightly smoother and more liquid. The T2 speakers in particular experience dramatic changes due to woofer suspension break-in; the upper bass (above 100 Hz) is diminished by about 2 dB, and the lower bass (below 100 Hz) rises about 1.5 dB, with the overall system becoming more balanced and better matched to the boundary and pressurization gain profile in most rooms - you will hear more 'deep' bass. So the above process is well worth doing with T2s. You may need to run Dirac or your other room correction process again after the speakers fully break in for the best possible results; I would advise doing so after completing the above woofer break-in process, then again after 100 hours of play. www.audioholics.com/loudspeaker-design/speaker-break-in-fact-or-fiction

im just about to pull the trigger on the t2's, does any one have pic's of the inner drivers, crossovers, or inside the cabinet? i would like to see the design of the driver basket, what materials was used? i like to see what things look like on the in side, is that normal? i was debating on the T2's and the chane A5.4 but ive swung to the airmotiv t2. any feed back will be appreciated no pics? is there any more info out there other than (dual 8” woven fiber) on the bass drivers?

Cheers Werner surely some one has removed one driver or another and photography them, there is a img of the s12 sub woofer on google, i guess one has to purchase the t2 to see whats in side. starting at a young age i took apart ever speaker i got, we would compare the magnets , we thought whos ever woofer has the biggest magnet is the best, didnt have clue what those electronics were for. i remember i saved all summer to buy a pair of cerwin vega D9's , they had 15 inch woofers and when i got around to opening the d9 up i was so let down by the size of the magnet, but those speakers rocked better than anyones i knew, i just never showed the magnet to anyone. thats just me, like to take things apart, thats why iv been a heavy equipment mechanic for 30 years

The important thing is the sound. And they totally rock and also handle the subtle stuff. AMAZING speakers. If I were looking, they would be my top choice under $2000/pair and up there for an even higher price. They are good. Go ahead and dissect if you must, but...listen to them first. The ears hear far better than what the eye knows to see. (And, these are great...) Mark

The speakers was delivered this morning, so I have spent the day listening and fiddling around with placement. I placed the speakers about 20 cm from the wall pointed directly at my listening position and went on from there. After a few Toe-out adjustments and re positioning of the speakers to about 45 cm from the wall I feel that I have arrived at a pretty decent result. Only thing I haven't quite got where I want it is the bass, it's a bit weak at my listening position. Bass is more balanced ca 1 m closer to the speakers, but that is in the middle of my living room table so at the moment compromises need to be made. But man the imaging on these speakers is something else, something that I already noticed on my Airmotiv 5S (which were the reason for looking at T2's altogether) Also the C2 for sure delivers in movies, and hot damn never have I heard so much bass from center channel before Now it's just time to enjoy the sound these speakers produce, with a bit of EQ tweaking along the way. PictureCool looking room, what size of screen do you have in the ceiling there. Just one thing though, room treatments room treatments room treatments haha, if it's possible to put up acoustic panels and bass traps which will really help you achieve better bass, that is a very reflective room and IMO it's a waste having a nice room/gear without proper acoustic absorption, one of the best things I did in my room to help with getting better sound quality for the money I have invested in my setup.
