I have the same EDID error connected to my Vizio. Doesn't seem to have any impact that I could find...

How do I set a permanent trim adjustment to the back right and left surrounds (7.1 speaker system)?
I'm using the MC-700 HDMI-1 input; PLIIx mode, and I have to increase the trim level everytime I turn on the MC-700 for the back right and left surrounds. I do see that there is "talk" of adding, in the future, a firmware update to add parametric EQ to the back surrounds. But for now, is there a way I can permanently increase the trim on the back surrounds and make it stick? What am I missing? Thanks for any input, much appreciated!

It doesn't retain the trim settings, so the only way right now is to not turn off your MC700. Oddly enough, it does retain the Test Tone db changes. It also doesn't retain any input renaming.

They know about the input bug so be patient. If its like the XMC-1 for any trim changes to stay permanent you have to change them in the setup menu. If you just trim from the remote they will reset after a restart.

Yep, trims are temporary (by design). If you want something permanent, then there should be a speaker level setting e.g. it's something like speakers menu->speaker preset->levels->speaker for the XMC-1.

Not with the MC700. The Trims tab is the only place to specify speaker level augments (other than the parametric eq but that works differently).

Yep, trims are temporary (by design). If you want something permanent, then there should be a speaker level setting e.g. it's something like speakers menu->speaker preset->levels->speaker for the XMC-1. Bringing up the MC700 and looking at the menus... You can set base trims off of flat within the Test Tones section. That's Setup -> Speaker Setup -> Test Tones. You will hear the test tones per speaker as you select them and you input the db up or down for each one. This includes all 7.1 channels. E.g., I currently have my FR/L speakers set down several db. These are "permanent" offsets - which you can change of course. The temporary trims (while the unit is on) are entered in the Trims menu - or if you hit the TRIM button on the remote, you can set them that way, but the information is only displayed on the front panel of the MC700, not sent to your display. For the TRIM button you keep hitting it and it cycles through the speakers, plus a few other things you can set.

To heck with consistency then...

What do you mean with that? This is actually the same way it was done in the UMC-200 and makes sense imho. So you can lift the sub via trim for a movie with low bass but the processor resets to standard afterwards.

It is the same in the Fusion 8100, the AVR now discontinued.
I guess people get confused because you can trim levels both via remote and via menu. In either case, the changes are not saved by design.
As somebody else said (and if the MC-700 menu system is similar to that of UMC-200 and Fusion 8100) you need to make the changes in the page where you also get the white noise. Those level changes will be permanent.
As Bolle wrote, it makes sense. More flexibility in adjusting levels. I occasionally use the remote trims to boost the sub level or the center channel. Some movies have horrible mixing, with the center overwhelmed by the other channels.

Definitely a big user "DUH" error on my part... Thanks again for the help!

Just replaced my marantz SR6004 receiver with the MC700. TV is a Vizio P65-C1. Everything connected through prepro with single HDMI to TV.
Works 1. Oppo 203 plays 4K HDR blurays and DVD-audio discs 2. Plays 4K content from fire TV 3. Plays everything from Apple TV gen 4
Issues that I haven't read previously 1. Oppo 203 home screen green screens. When I stop the movie and go to the oppo home page I get a green screen so I can't play from network drives, USB, or change settings
Impressions Smoother than the SR6004 Easy power, was listening consistently at -10 db before and now -17 to -20 db Tighter bass, clearer mids and highs

ARC decided to stop working tonight. So disappointed. Tried everything. Many others posted about ARC problems but I see no responses.

Unfortunate mate ; HDMI inc are making ARC much more robust with hdmi 2.1 You may have some luck with hi speed ethernet hdmi cables rather than the normal hi speed if you haven't already Erik hdguru.com/hdmi-2-1-to-bring-robust-home-theater-experience/

Just another night turning on the system and the MC700 won't load. It just continues to say loading, loading and nothing happens for minutes. I've turned the back switch off, I've unplugged it for ten minutes and the same thing. It just won't initialize at all.

Finally got it to initialize. I unplugged the HDMI in, the HDMI out, and the trigger. The processor then initialized. I cannot say which part was the problem. I was able to plug everything back in and I'm up and running. Have their been any firmware updates yet?

Same problem tonight. This time I unplugged cables one by one. The MC700 would not initialize until I disconnected the HDMI input from the Roku. It would then initialize and load properly, I can plug the HDMI input back in and everything is fine. But I cannot be unplugging inputs every time I turn this thing on. What's the problem here. Nothing in the system changed, this just started happening.

I would suspect the Roku, but I am prejudiced against them since this is the only electronics company that I have had 5 devices fail one me!
