drysdaleI looked at it a couple weeks ago and crossed it off my list. I already have an Oppo 105 and am not impressed with its audio. I preferred my DC-1 and XMC-1 to it. So, I was skeptical to start with. Then a couple guys here, whose opinions I trust got it and at least one sent it back. Net, I am still looking at the options I laid out in my recent post from sorting through the options I learned from this thread. Mark

I've ordered the level 2 spring DAC. I also have the yiggy on order. Hopefully they will arrive around the same time. We'll see. Any eta on either yet? Mark |

Mark it's going to be another week and a half to two weeks for the Halo spring DAC. I've cancelled my order on the yiggy. I've already waited a month and a half for my schitt. |

I really do look forward to seeing what you think of the sound and customer service from them. Knock on wood, my Geek is working again...it sounds fantastic. But their support is just dreadful. They seem to know what to do to resolve issues, but they take forever to respond and you cannot call them...just file a ticket and wait for a response.
But the sound...stellar.

After long pondering (and having to buy a new car suddenly) and after hearing the sweet sounds of the Geek again and using the Geek via usb to listen to Tidal Masters (MQA)...I am going to wait a bit and see how MQA evolves over the next 6 months or so. Only 1 DAC on my list handled MQA on its own. If I am going to drop $2-3k on a new DAC and MQA becomes the norm...I would rather have the DAC handle it natively to give me options.
Thanks everyone for the input...a lot of very good options to try!

The 10/16 review had the guy spending more time talking about the town than the DAC. Noticed an article for 1/17 in Stereophile comparing yggy to brooklyn. Sounds very comparable but different...based on limited comments from reviewer.

There is also a review of the Yggy in the latest Absolute Sound. Apparently it received quite the praise. I have not read it myself, as I don't subscribe to that magazine.

Attachment DeletedThe level 2 spring DAC has arrived from Hong Kong. The manufacturer recommends 500 hrs break in time. 8-20 hrs warm up time also. So basically leave it on...!! Out of the box cold it sounds amazing, I'm not one too right opinions on products but I will try after the DAC has had enough time to break in and warm up. I will compare it to my DC-1.
