I was reading some of the comments about the harmony remotes in this thread. I'm having issues with it not selecting the inputs on the MC-700. It never is setting the input that is called out on the harmony, it stays on the last input that was selected. The help button does fix this, so I know it can work. I've played with the delay setting and that doesn't seem to matter either. What delay setting are you using to get it to select the inputs correctly? Has anyone been able directly select Opto or Coax, or do you have to cycle the input to get it on the correct one? Thanks! Digital audio inputs (coax, optical, BT) have no separate discrete codes. You have to cycle between them to get the correct one. A possible solution is that if you're not using all inputs (and for instance, only using coaxial), you can set the others off from the menu and then you'll always get the correct input from your harmony. That's what I figured. The Harmony shows an option for Opto Input select and Coax input select, but they don't work. I did this for a work around, for Coax I send a single Digital Input command and for Opto I send it twice. There are a few scenario's that I have to hit the help button, but for how I usually run things it works.

I don't have a Harmony but I am using the IR codes in the file on the Emotiva support page in AnyMote Smart Remote play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy&hl=en on my IR equipped Samsung Galaxy Tab S and yes there are discrete codes for all the inputs and yes they work. So the answer is that the MC-700 DOES have dicrete codes for all the inputs: if they are not all working on the Harmony it is because the Harmony template has not been loaded with them.

AND... It should be reported to Logitech so that they can fix the Harmony database... I've been working with them, but so far no luck. After a few days going back and forth with Harmony, plus sending the IR codes, I think we have a solution. This is what they sent me. "Thank you for sharing the codes, I’ve converted the codes into Harmony format and added in the Emotiva MC-700 device profile in our database. I’d recommend you to delete and re-add the device, recreate the Activities associated with the device. Check if that works as expected and let me know the outcome. "I deleted and re-added the MC-700. I now have direct access to the Optical and Coax inputs, no more cycling through the Dig input select to get to the right one. Hope this helps others that were struggling with the Harmony remote.

Great!! Thank you very much!!!. And thank you also to kevinc as I was wrong and I thought there were no discrete codes for these inputs because of what I had read on the forum at the very beginning when the MC700 first came out.

Hi, I have an issue with my MC-700, where the Emo-Q calibration will run in an endless loop, and never finish. I'm using the supplied microphone. I've double checked all the connections, reset to the defaults, made sure there was no audio or other interference, tried different mic locations, and troubleshot all the other components. The firmware is 2.9.0. Any ideas? Thanks, Skyler

Make sure the microphone is firmly seated in the jack. I had a similar issue, the connector is very tight.

I'm about to purchase a MC700 and have heard that it has multiple bug issues and am rethinking the purchase. Would anyone say through these 18 pages of issues they regret their MC700? You Could go back and get something else entirely? I hate buyers remorse, hence the inquiry Thanks

I hate buyers remorse, hence the inquiry Thanks Hdmi related issues i hope they can fix fastest possible when audio switches from Pcm to Digital sound formats in any use, you get a enoying sound in the speakers. Only on Hdmi so they recommend to switch to toslink but only 1 input. I also have a issue on 4K content to get pitchure at all but with 2.9.2 Beta firmware i got this solve or i have send back the unit. Otherwise a really god unit and i hope for a new firmware soon that resolve the first issue and it get reported like March/April and no fix yet.

I have seen MC700 as a very good device and has good reviews, hope they will fix your issues soon, they sure will do the best to support you all.
But i was wondering if there is a new version coming up, something higher than MC700 but not as high as XMC-1, i was not sad not to have Atmos but i needed 2nd zone, so wish to have something like that from Emotiva.

Yes i have still buyed the unit today because of its price point on a processor that can process 4k Content.
If i didnt get this to work i have switch it out directly.
So its only you that can decide if you can live with the other bug to they fix it

XMC-1 and RMC-1 are not like-for-like replacements. Not sure about a flood but there will be a trickle.

XMC-1 and RMC-1 are not like-for-like replacements. Not sure about a flood but there will be a trickle. The more I think about it, the more it seems to me that the RMC-1 "replaces" the XMC-1. Starting with Emotiva, while the XMC-1 was being developed it consumed almost every bit of their resources, with the result being that other products were delayed and it seems the same with the RMC-1. For example the updates/upgrades on the XMC-1 are on hold while they work on the RMC-1. In the eyes of the Emotivaphiles the XMC-1 was the top of the ladder in processors and many just have to have the top of the tree. In the RMC-1, the new top step in Emotiva processors, they have a replacement for the XMC-1. Reading the numerous threads there seems to be a number of XMC-1 owners who are unwilling, reluctant or just unable for any number of reasons to send their XMC-1 back to Emotiva for updating/upgrading. As a result they are looking at the RMC-1 as their next processor, to "replace" the XMC-1 in their system. In many ways the RMC-1 is "replacing" the XMC-1, that doesn't have to mean that there is no more XMC-1's. With a "full bottle" XMC-1 costing ~$3K it's not unreasonable to expect that Emotivaphiles will look at the RMC-1 at ~$5K as a reasonable replacement, whilst being a step up at the same time. Whether it's a flood or trickle (of XMC-1's for sale) in some ways depends on how many people send their XMC-1's in for updating/upgrading. Or is it easier for them to just buy an RMC-1 and move their XMC-1 to another room and not worry about the update/upgrade or sell it and let the new owner worry about sending it back to Emotiva. Cheers Gary

Cheers Gary For sure, there will be those that upgrade or replace their XMCs with an RMC. However I still think that it's not a replacement (as in a product replacement in the product portfolio). I fully expect XMCs to be sold alongside the RMC. There is a market for both levels. Sort of like the Audi S8 and Audi S4. There will be those that cannot upgrade to Atmos for limitations (e.g. can't install ceiling speakers in apartments, etc.. etc.). Granted, for international Emovites such as yourself, it is a pain to have to send in the unit to Emotiva.
