Just bought an MC-700 after my UMC-200s power supply went TU. Can anybody help me brainstorm how I could separate 2 channel music from 5.1 theater? Currently I use Klipsch RF-7IIS with matched surrounds for theater with a BassX A500 amp. I use Lascallas for 2 channel music with a XPA-2 gen 3 amp. Systems have historically been separate as I used an Adcom pre for 2 channel that just blew the tape inputs. Since the MC700 has no zone 2, I'm at a loss how to use the mc700 to power 2 sets of mains so I'm in need of help. Is it possible to just switch off whatever amp is not in use? Is it possible that a surround input could be powered as second mains? Curious if the all stereo option in the menu would work that way by simply switching off the theater amp. Maybe a dumb question but please go easy on me. Thanks

Wow, I can't believe people are trustworthy or brave enough to buy this thing. Its a perfect example how Emotiva releases a piece of poo, works on it for about a year, maybe 2, gets it about 90%, then drops it like a hot potato. Did anyone ever get the physical manual Dan PROMISED? Nope. I wouldn't use this processor in my garage system. Maybe that's just me.
Good luck to you folks.

Bonzo, it may be just you (and a few others). I have had an MC700, and had no issues with it that are any more annoying than the XMC-1 that I have now. For $700 bucks, you will be hard pressed to find as good a sound quality with the features. IMO

Only use HDMI 4-6 inputs for non 4K sources. Don't blame CEC issues on Emotiva, that stuff is a mess unless all of your components are from the same company. Good luck. I disagree with this statement - all of my sources are non-4k but when I moved them to inputs 1-3, most of the quirks went away. I believe this is simply due to the 4k HDMI chip being newer and so handling HDMI overall better. I would reiterate - try different combinations and see what ends up working best; it can't hurt.

After trying two different USB-sticks, one that works with my RMC-1, with different formatting for a long time without success I tried a new SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 32 GB just out of the box. Copied the file to it without deleting any factory program on the drive and suddenly it just worked. Frustrating that Emotiva processors have such problems to accept working USB-sticks.
Now I just wonder what problems this new firmware solved. The MC-700 seems a bit more stable today without any drop-outs (yet) as it has had before but I have not tested it for long and only playing CDs.

I have given up trying to update using a SanDisk CruzerGlide 15 Gb USB stick. Nor will it load with a SanDisk Ultra Fit 32 Gb Usb 3.1 stick Can anyone else get this damned thing to load?

This is a repost from the "MC-700 First Impressions" thread. But It applies to this thread also:
I have been using the MC-700 for 1 week in my set-up (It shipped with firmware 3.1.3). Overall good equipment and value and relatively easy to use. No complaints and would recommend if the below Problem is eventually rectified:
First, I used the Automated Emo-Q service and was pretty satisfied-and only did some minor bass management tweaking. I use a 2.1 speaker set-up. All HDMI cables are spec. 2.0a or b
Now onto the less-desirable traits: -HDMI 2.0 sources that use 2.2 CEC does not function properly. I use a Roku Stick and a 4K UHD Blu-Ray player. When I go directly from the Roku or Blu-Ray to any of the HDMI 2.0 ("commercial 4K") inputs I either get no sound, no video or no both! To solve I have to randomly turn off sources such as TV, Emotiva and/or disconnect-reconnect the HDMI cable from Roku. Anytime source material changes, example: one episode finishes and another episode begins of a series, either the audio, video or both are lost-and so we begin again. This is all accompanied by pops and clicks from the speakers.
(NOTE-all works fine using the HDMI "non-commercial 4k" inputs, but I lose 4K video, of course).
I almost returned the unit, but finally decided to input all 4K sources to the TV (LG OLED CX series) and use the eARC/ARC for sound return back to the MC-700. Everything works fine now.
The Manual and literature, as well as the label on the MC-700 HDMI input is marked as only ARC. So I assume it does not support eARC bandwidth.
This is not my desired set-up with HDMI sources, but for the quality/value relationship in a processor I can't beat it for under $1000.
Hope this Helps

Has anyone been able to get an MC-700 controlled by a Fire TV?

My MC-700 just took a dump. Went to power it on and nothing. There's no lights on or anything. Tried different plugs and changed power cords, still nothing. Checked the fuse its good. Took the top panel off and checked that I got 120v power to the power supply and its good there. Probed the connectors going to the other boards and I am not getting 12v going out. I have 5v coming off the smaller 5 pin connector but no 12v coming off the others that are labeled as 12v. Also noticed that one of the caps looks swollen and upon removing the power supply looks like several caps have leaked. Anyone know if I can just clean up the board and replace the caps?
