Does UB900 have an option for secondary audio? Like older Blurays? maybe switch it off? That's my first prognosis anyways... anyone else have a panny? I have reset both the MC-700 and the Panny UB900 Secondary Audio is set to Automatic as default I was hoping that would solve the problem but i didn't The same as before Very happy I didn't sell my Pioneer: I'm using it now Jake, if none of the suggestions made to you over at the AVS Forum has worked, try the following... Before doing any of this, "Secondary Audio" must be set to " Off" in the UB900. Not " Automatic". First, fully power down ( not standby) all of the components in the entire HDMI path. If any of the devices do not have a master power switch on the back of the unit, unplug them. This must include the source (your UB900), the sink (your TV or projector) and the switch (your MC-700). There should be no other devices in this chain. Now, before powering anything back on, unplug the HDMI connections for your TV (or projector) and your UB900 from the back of the MC-700 and power the MC-700 back on. Wait for it to fully boot, then power it back down and turn the master power switch (on the back of the unit) back off. Leave all of the devices fully powered off (or unplugged) for at least five minutes. This should flush any stored EDID information and force a new handshake between all of the devices. Once five minutes has passed, and without turning anything back on, reconnect the HDMI cable from your UB900 into HDMI Input 1 of the MC-700 and your TV (or projector) into HDMI Output 1. Do not connect any other sources at this point and do not connect anything into HDMI Output 2. Now, power on the three devices in this order and allow each to fully boot before powering up the next device in the chain... 1) Sink (TV or projector) 2) Switch (MC-700) 3) Source (UB900) Now, load a 4K UHD Blu-ray into the UB900 and see what you get. If this does not work (and you have followed all of the other suggestions made to you), then your only recourse is to contact Emotiva for assistance or return the unit and stick with what works for you. Keep in mind that although Emotiva's staff has limited participation in this forum, they do not see every thread or post. This forum is mostly a hangout for us users, but we do try to help each other. You can contact Emotiva Support by phone (which I know is difficult for you because of your location and time difference) or open a support ticket on their website. You can also email "support@emotiva.com". Really hope this helps...

I just got a mc-700 and xpa5 combo setup running SVS Ultra towers, center and rears.
I also have 2 x PB2000 subs. I ran through the auto eq and set the fronts to large where the crossover shows 20hz for the fronts. After the autoeq I noticed the sub output was really low (non existent) even though the crossover point on the sub was 90 hz. When you set the fronts to large does it expect them to cover most of the bass and baely any content is set to the subs?

Any word on if we will see HDMI 2.1 in the MC700? If yes, any ETA?

Any word on if we will see HDMI 2.1 in the MC700? If yes, any ETA? Since it isn’t designed to be hardware “upgradable” (a modular design, like the XMC-1) you’ll never see HDMI 2.1 come to the MC-700. Your upgrade path will be purchasing whatever “MC” series processor comes next to replace it. But until you have a source and sink where both require it, I wouldn’t worry about it...

Sorry, I meant on the next MC series, not the existing product. No MC700 replacement in the near future Donovan ; if it does turn up expect it to be in the upper echelons with the modular designs as its much more involved.complicated than the present hdmi2.0a/b Lower echelons may be looking at a few years away easily going on the Denon effort that was just found.. The present landscape below ; the latest podcast mentioned Jan/Feb for the 2.0b board which is all you need for 4k with hdr10 and dolby vision .. emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/905370/thread

Does anyone know if the new MC-700s ship with the latest V2.9.2 firmware? I just got one and have been using it for a few weeks. Came with 2.9.1 firmware..

I am having some issues with a new MC-700. Occasionally when the MC700 is on and set to HDMI4 for my computer, my computer says there is no HDMI connection. The solution is to turn on my TV and the HDMI connection appears on the computer. Is this due to cables (I have a 20ft cable feeding the MC)? Also I cannot get the ARC to work (2 meter cable). Could both of these problems be fixed with certified cables?

Well... After getting quite discussed with the MC-700 and having a discussion with Keith, I finally found a solution to the "HDMI cable not connected" issue. A little googling, it appears as though this is fairly common on the Microsoft web sites. The solution was to make sure the TV is set as a duplicate screen on the PC display configuration. (the TV is connected through the MC700 to the HDMI output of my PC). Once the PC config was set correctly I could power on the MC700 and play music from my PC library via hdmi to the MC700 without turning on my TV. Now the HDMI switching is still very slow (power up handshakes) from the MC700, but at least I am not jumping through unreasonable hoops to get my music to play. Another discovery was that I was not getting LFE output from the MC700 when I was sending Milti-PCM from the PC to the MC. The solution to this issue was to enable "double bass" in the speaker menu on the MC. If you enable "double bass" the MC does not alter any EQ settings, rather it just enables the LFE to the subwoofer. Relatively thin documentation in the MC manual is the cause of not having a clear description of the details of the functions of the MC. BTW in my frustration, I did some evaluation of the Marantz NR1608. This looks like a machine that would serve me well, full featured AV processing with L/R pre outputs to conenct a more substantial amp for pure stereo listening....

My living room system, which is not much used for video, is in need of a new pre amp processor. The main speakers are Magnepan 1.7's with an XPA2 Gen 3 power amp driving them. I also have a Magnepan CC3 center channel and MMG surrounds, along with an Infinity SSW 210 subwoofer. I have enjoyed using surround sound with my audio for decades, going back to the old Dynaco Quadapter days, so certainly want to continue with surround for my audio. My Outlaw 990 pre amp processor that I've had in that system for 10 years has recently developed an issue.
The MC-700 is looking pretty enticing as a replacement. The posts I've read generally have been favorable to the sonic quality of the MC-700. Plus, it would look great with the XPA2 visually. I've read through the posts in this thread and noticed that Emotiva has been working through some firmware bugs with it for the last year. How do you current owners feel about the current firmware version?
I'm fortunate in that I have a local dealer who I have been dealing with for almost 40 years who carries Emotiva and Magnepan products, so I can go listen to a system set up much like mine. I'll do that on Tuesday. Any feedback from those of you with experience with the MC-700 would be appreciated.

Does anyone have a Nvidia Shield TV connected successfully to the MC-700?
Whenever I get mine working in 4k enhanced HDMI Mode (10-Bit 2020 HDR) the connection only lasts until I restart the Nvidia Shield. Then I just get random noise onscreen until I disable the enhanced HDMI setting on my TV (Sony KD-75XE9005).
Guess this is another handshake issue.
I'm on 2.9.2 by the way.
