With the Harmony Elite you can adjust the delays on the remote itself. It defaulted to a 1.5 second power on delay. I tried 5 and 7.5 second power on delays.
But I'm still having the issue and I believe it is HDMI negotiation issues between my TV, MC-700 and Shield TV. If I reboot my Shield TV after everything is up and running it will show the boot screen but after that it goes to black and never comes back. I have to go to MC-700 Menu, and back out (sometimes multiple times) before I can see the Shield TV interface. The power on delay change did fix the issue where I'd get No Signal from my TV but I'm still left with the black screen issue.

There was video for a few seconds then the screen goes black but all audio works. I switched the resolution settings on the Roku from 1080 to 720 and the screen went back on for a few second then black again. I tried HDMI 2,3, 4 and 6 all the same situation. I hard reset the MC-700 with the switch on the back and the issue went away. The TV is getting something though during the black screen, because I don't get the "No Signal" dialog on the TV.

I get that with 2.9.0 occasionally. I just switch to a different HDMI input and then back again. In 2.8.1, I had to reboot the MC or the device or both, so this is better. Not ideal but much better.

Does anyone else have issues with popping noises or other weird outputs to the speakers during certain times? One that is very repeatable for me is with my old Xbox360. I have one hooked up over HDMI to input 5, and when turning on the Xbox, I get a blast of noise. Then when my game loads and switches from PCM to Dolby Digital, I get another blast of noise.
Also today I was watching a Bluray on my PS3 using multichannel PCM on HDMI input 6. When the movie was over, I hit the eject button while it was playing. I was blasted by several loud pops since the volume was still turned up from the movie. It was very shocking and seemed to come from all speakers including my sub.
I have one of the MC700's from the first shipment. I have updated to 2.9.0. In fact, the first blast of noise from the Xbox didn't happen with 2.8.1, but the second has always happened since I first hooked it up.

Yes I get this when I switch from PCM to Dolby on my PS4. And for some strange reason the MC700 keeps telling my PS4 to go back to PCM. I am constantly changing it back to Dolby and each time I get a static pop noise. Thought the noise is much less going Dolby to PCM.

In the Harmony remote software you can add in additional actions so you can have an activity go "Turn on TV, Turn on Amp, Select HDMI 3, wait 2 seconds, Select HDMI 4". This might be a workaround. I had to do this on my UMC-200 for the same reason. I haven't seen it happen with my MC-700 though. My MC-700 did do a loud POP across all the speakers when I selected Bitstream from PCM to get audio out of my PS4. The UMC-200 had the same problem when it was released because it they forgot to put a delay or buffer or something in there when switching audio modes. It was fixed in a UMC-200 firmware update shortly after release. Surprised they reintroduced it again in the MC-700.

Yep, same here. I've been experiencing a loud pop whenever I manually power up/down a device through all speakers. ie. AppleTV, AndroidTV. My standard procedure is to switch to an input (Input 5, say). Turn On AppleTV using remote. Pop! I'll turn off AppleTV (Pop!). Then switch to another input... rinse, repeat, etc...
I'm not sure if it was present on 2.8.1, but it's definitely here on 2.9.0. I've quickly learned to lower volume upon device cycling, then ramp it up after a couple seconds.

I hope they can do something about the loud popping noises. When it happened at the end of a movie with the volume turned way up, I immediately considered returning the MC700. I got several shockingly loud pops and was worried about damaged speakers.
Hoping Lonnie or someone from Emotiva will chime in here and say whether they're working on another firmware fix for this issue.

Have it on occasion with an Xbox One S. Usually, when watching a Blu Ray and removing disk while still in the Xbox mode. Now, I wait until the system is powered off or in another mode like 'Watch TV' and then remove it.

Hi,
I received my imported MC-700 a few days ago. It is running 2.9.0 and I am experiencing 2 problems at the moment:
- every now and then the signal to the beamer seems to drop and the MC-700 shows "no audio". It recovers in a few seconds but is obviously very annoying. (Q: Is this the "no audio issue" I have been reading about?) - the ARC from my TV does not work. The Sony TV reports "TV speakers active due to Audio System Communication Failure" after a few seconds after switching to ARC.
I tried replacing all HDMI cables but no success yet.
My test-setup is really simple:
- Apple TV (gen 2) on HDMI input 1 or 4 (tried both) - HDMI Output 1 to Sony TV - HDMI Output 2 to BenQ beamer
The "dropped signal" so far only seems to happen on HDMI Output 2, but quite frequently. I have not been able to experience it on HDMI Output 1, even with the Sony TV removed and the beamer on Output 1.
Any suggestions to improve?

If you move the BenQ to Output 1 and the Sony to Output 2 does it happen to the Sony?
Move the BenQ to Outputs 4-6 since I'm assuming it's 1080 and not 4k.

Last night I did experience some audio issues that others have been reporting. I haven't had any loud pops, but when watching a movie the audio just dropped for a few seconds then came back. It happened a couple times. I realize now that I had this issue before but thought it was the video I was watching because it happened on YouTube videos. The movie I was watching last night was a Netflix stream. The stream had no issues, the audio just disappeared.
Neither this issue nor the black screen issue are major - just more annoying. When the MC-700 works it is awesome. Its just a smidge annoying that I'm having similar growing pains with this unit that I had with the UMC-1. Though admittedly the issues I had with the UMC-1 were much worse.

Has anyone tried a DVD-AUDIO disc with the MC-700? I have a new Sony X800 UHD blu-ray player connected to input 1. Tonight I tried an old Blue Man Group disc I have that has DVD-Audio (MLP 5.1 96kHz/24Bit). I've triple checked any relevant setting on the blu-ray player, but all I'm able to get on the MC-700 is PCM 96kHz STEREO. The blu-ray player reports playing the MLP 5.1 track. It's the MC-700 capable of decoding a DVD-Audio stream?
The other question I have is about the ARC. I have an LG E6P OLED TV connected to the MC-700 Output 1, using TV HDMI 2 (which is the port that supports ARC). When I try to use any of the built in streaming apps on the TV I'm unable to get any sound. I've selected the TV(ARC) input from the MC-700, and enabled the external audio out on the TV. I've also run an optical cable out from the TV, which works fine with the apps, but I'd rather use the ARC.
I'm running the 2.9.0 Firmware. I also installed the heatsink and can report that I haven't had anymore dropouts. I'm using Monoprice Certified Premium High Speed 18Gbps HDMI cables.

DaFalcon, I cannot address the DVD A question but I can report I have the same issue with ARC. My work around has me usung up the one optical port to get sound. Its not my preferred set up but at this point my only choice.

"I changed the audio options for ARC/Optical and i enable SIMPLINK and i changed PCM for Automatic. Thanks"

As Dafalcon, I'm also on 2.90 with heatsink installed and using certified hdmi cables: no dropouts, neither strange sounds here. I'm just enjoying a lot this pre, I'm 'revisiting' all of my music and it sounds sweet, detailed and awesome!!

If you move the BenQ to Output 1 and the Sony to Output 2 does it happen to the Sony? Move the BenQ to Outputs 4-6 since I'm assuming it's 1080 and not 4k. Switched Sony Tv to Output 2 and Benq beamer to output 1. So far no "no audio" on either beamer or tv. However, did not test for an extended period yet. Will post what I find. However, this is not a final solution since the TV is supposed to play the 4k stuff and have ARC.
