Ok guys I have two different usb cables that I am using to connect my laptop to my DAC. However, when I use one of the cables I get a message stating the usb device is not recognizable then I switch to the other usb cable and it works just fine. Any thoughts?

Yes, one is trash and the other isn't. At least for this application.

It happens my friend, I've had new cables that were useless and that was that! Sad but it happens. At least it was "just" the cable! Id be counting the blessings for sure.

Not all USB cords are created equal. The cord that doesn't 'work' might be an old USB 1.

Well, it sounds like the perfect audiophile cable - dead silent. Mark

It's probably because your laptop doesn't have an audiophile processor.

It's probably because your laptop doesn't have an audiophile processor. -tm I'm still looking for an audiophile grade fuse for my laptop.

That will do you no good unless you have an audiophile-grade power cord for your laptop for recharging purposes. It provides a better charge. Which also means you need an audiophile-grade battery, too, that ensures unvarying voltage over the entire voltage range.

What if I install a dedicated audiophile electric pole outside my home?

What if I install a dedicated audiophile electric pole outside my home? You mean like a giant cable lifter? Good idea! As long as you have audiophile-grade wires/cables strung on the poles. And only let audiophile-grade cryogenically treated birds sit on the wires, too.

"It sucks because the one that does not work is the "audiophile" cable." Well then......A trip to WALMART should solve that problem Bill

What if I install a dedicated audiophile electric pole outside my home? I'm going to get audiophile grade high tension power lines installed.

I feel bad for them. They have top notch equipment, but the space for the speakers/ speaker setup just looks all wrong imo. One guy uses movie theater speakers and puts them in wall. The other guy has huge speakers which are packed in a terrible acoustic space.

Probably they know that replacing the speakers will be the best option but they just enjoy the ride of listening equipment.

Is it surprising that expensive audiophile USB Cables don't work? Nope. Seen it allot. I got to my Wal-Mart store get a few and connect. Just so easy.
