Oh and I'm drunk again....lol I travel a lot for work and find myself in that state a lot...  Im a tinknocker local 33 Toledo Ohio. I've done alot of traveling in my career also. This whole computer thing is new to me. |

I've had the DC-1 for about a year and a half. I've so much enjoyed that DAC. It's been my first real listening experience with a awsome DAC. I've moved on ( not like the dc-1 is incompetent) I've just changed lanes....

Alright it's f@#& awsome. The digital from the USB is good. I think what im hearing is way better than what I was hearing. I'm not the person to give a good whatever. I'm just another hopeless audioholic....  |

I've finally figured out my new setup....lol. it took a month with a lot of help. It was an investment though. It's all working together nicely.

I too, have been playing around with digitized music and have yet to find the exact fit for me. I do not like Kodi at all- it's a pain and geared toward movies.
I have 2 Escient units E2 & AVX models (sold >$2000) which are all-in-one server, DAC, ripper, player, interfaced with Sony jukebox players and worked great. But D&M decided to screw their customers and made the units useless by not keeping a server available for meta data, updates. If the HDD dies, forget repair, run by some industrial custom OS (I have on disc) that needs to connect to a main server for final install settings. McIntosh sold the same units and they still work. I'ld pay a fee if they would allow Escients' access.
As mentioned, Sony HAP is a nice knock-off of the idea.
Thx to Hemster's recommendation, I have all my music on Votexbox Server that works good. It's the interface, apps & audio fidelity that is my issue to the perfect match for me, still looking. Some of the above ideas may be worth a try.
