If you go out of town when delivery is expected - send the dog and the DAC. I'll dog-sit and DAC-sit for you! Retirement has its advantages... Mark

Is the streaming in the new dc-2 trough Bluetooth or an app? What they said at Emofest is that they were using a thin client approach, and I am pretty sure it was wifi. And, you'd be able to send any music source to it. It's the same module planned as an add-on for the RMC-1 (And hopefully available as a stand-alone unit). Mark

Per my enquiry - No pre-order is yet available. Their website posting will suffice when the time comes... Hilarious, though, that they still have the DC-1 photo as their leader for the DAC category on the product page when you can't even buy one!

I'm new to this Forum, first post.
I called Emotiva yesterday 3/28/18. They tell me that the DC-2 will be released sometime this year. I'll be one of the first to purchase it.
Currently I have the XDA-2 which is great. What I like about the proposed DC-2 is improved off the shelf DAC chip(s) and a sub out (AES/EBU) connection. Will purchase an Airmotiv 10 inch Sub to complement my Airmotiv 6S monitors. CD transport is the ERC-3. I'm not a streamer, just a Red Book CD guy.
Emotiva makes great gear in my opinion. I enjoy this Forum.

Do I interpret you correctly that you are using an ERC-3 as CD-transport, but using the ERC-3's digital outs to feed an XDA-2? Ever try just using the ERC-3 w/o the XDA-2? I suspect it is just as good if not better. Mark

Mark if I remember lonnie correctly, in a conversation at an emofest, the dac in the erc-3 is akin to the dac in the dc-1 and superior to the dac in the xda-2. tchaik...............

Gents - Thanks for the warm welcome.
Per Emotiva manuals: XDA-2 has an AD1955 chip. ERC-3 has an AD1955 chip. DC-1 has two AD1955 chips.
That said, I'm really more interested in the proposed DC-2 - which is what this thread is about.
Mark - you mentioned that I wouldn't have to wait long for the DC-2 to come out. How do you know this? Do you work for Emotiva?
Thanks, Peter

Do you work for Emotiva? Thanks, Peter I don't work for them, but the prototype was shown at Emofest in September. And somewhere recently (either here on the lounge or in a prior podcast) some rough timing was mentioned by Emotiva (IIRC). We're pretty close to that timing now. I was thinking they'd mention it in today's podcast but that was focused on the XMC-1 video board upgrade + a brief mention of the Atmos board critical to the new RMC-1 and XMC-1 upgrade. Still, I think we'll be hearing more about the DC-2 within the month, if I were to guess on timing. Mark

Well, we know that itโs bad-ass! ๐ Itโs going to be a great product with extremely high performance. 32/384 with fully balanced architecture. DSD support too. AKM DACโs running differentially. AKM sample rate converter with high precision clocking. Very nice build quality. New current feedback headphone amp design is superb too! $699,00 Made in USA ๐บ๐ธ

I imagine it will still be half width and fully balanced. I'm hoping for a 1/4" headphone output. No 1/4โ out... You want to get the companion HP-1 Class A balanced headphone amplifier! 4 watts per channel, discrete Class A design. +/- 27 VDC rails!!!! Talk about headroom. Great for both low and high impedance headphones. Selectable gain, etc. $399.00 Made in USA ๐บ๐ธ
