Even with EQ, my vented subs just aren't doing it for organ pedal tones. Who makes inexpensive subs that go to 15 Hz. at -3 dB ANECHOIC (no room reinforcement)?

I know who does. Emotiva does ! Seriously. Wait on the new S15 even if it cost more because I have a good feeling it goes plenty low for a great price in the subwoofer world.

HSU comes to mind right off the bat. This really depends on what you mean by "cheap" though. If you mean cheap for a sub that'll go way below 20hz with absolute authority then I'd say check out PowerSound Audio.

Maybe you could trade in your vented subs to PSA for one of their larger sealed subs or dual opposed sealed configurations. They should go deeper then vented by sacrificing total output.

I have a feeling that you can have cheap OR deep.

loud, deep, or size - pick two your cheapest option would probably be a horn loaded option where the horn was tuned to your requirements. There are some pretty impressive horn loaded DIY options

If you check out Tekton Designs Facebook page Eric has a pair of custom Pendragons with 14" drivers. Maybe you need those? (4) 14" drivers in a room should be able to produce some spl and go low.

I don't think folks realize the physics involved to make that spec happen without room enforcement. So your expectations may be unrealistic. To get any real output without room gain below 20Hz requires large drivers in an IB setup (and now the room is the box) or something like a large transmission box. They key word here is large. If you really want to see what is involved you can start here: www.hometheatershack.com/forums/diy-subwoofers/Even if you never plan on building one, the knowledge behind it gives you proper perspective when looking for a commercial design.

Agreed. You want cheap and deep....you aren't going to get it - not at any kind of quality. Those PSA subs are superior to Emotiva's basx offerings and provide some of the highest value out there. They are also pretty darn full range. However different placement may help you out here to get a smoother deeper coupling. If you want more after placement...then you want to add a third subwoofer or go for a higher performance version from PSA. They have some real beasts.

I think my SVS did well with the test disc you brought over that one time. If I remember correctly, it got down pretty low on the pipe organ demo. And that's with the volume knob on the sub turned down.
