I don't see what is so funny. If you agree to cover shipping expenses, then why not. I am only trying to find a solution without sending it for service.

First I've just swapped the cables from the xlr outputs of XMC-1, then the right channel disappeared. Then I've swapped the entire cables (from xmc-1 outputs and apmps inputs) - left channel dead. Then I've reversed the cables (entire cable from left channel with entire cable from right channel) - left channel - dead. That means than the cables are ok. So with left channel dead I just switch off the unit to stand by and immediately switch it on. Left channel reappears. Such an odd behaviour. Ok... that is now much clearer. As per edrummereasye, it does appear to be an issue on the left channel of the XMC-1, since it doesn't matter which cables are used - whatever is coming out of the left side (or not) is where the problem is. Does the European Emotiva center have any repair/diagnostic capability? I imagine two-way shipping from Bulgaria to the U.S. can't be fun, but hopefully still only a fraction of the total cost, if you had to go that route. I imagine Emotiva is not going to share their design spec with you to give to a local circuit repair shop. Back in the bad old days, and I mean decades ago, one actually got circuit diagrams with one's gear (I have such a puppy for an almost 50 year old Fisher receiver - when Fisher was actually a force in the audio industry).

Everyone here wants to help you avoid the trip in for service, but I just counted.....going in circles (or should I say, from left to right) for 43 posts.....that's hard to accomplish without cracking a little smile! Sometimes our big boy toys fail us and we have to suck it up and send them in. Sorry....I know it's a pain! Bill

Well... after checking everything in my gear I've come to a solution. The drop out was coming from left side XPA-1l. It had a loose fuse. After fixing it, everything is back to normal. I am playing my XPA-1l's in class A mode so once in a while one of the four fuses needs to be replaced. Probably the last one I've replaced was not quite in place. I am really sorry for starting the thread. I've should have done more checks before starting it at all. My apologies to everyone waisted time here.

Hmm... well, I hope you have actually found the problem, but, I'm a bit mystified as why the problem moved to the right side when you swapped one of those cables, if the drop out is actually coming from the left side XPA-1L.
