I would be willing to work something out to ship it to Emotiva for upgrades....., if you are serious then I would do $1250 shipped to Emotiva ..... Thanks, I'm seriously interested, I also have an Aussie who wants to sell me his XMC-1 as he is after an RMC-1 too. That deal hinges on Emotiva letting me do the updates/upgrades myself. I'm off to Singapore for a conference for a week, gunna catch up with the Wiz while I'm there as he is in the same situation, more than capable of doing the updates/upgrades, except he has 2 x XMC-1's. Further communication via PM's soon. Cheers Gary Sounds good....Emotiva is very easy to work with in regards to customer requests, I speak from personal experience. I look forward to hearing from you soon....

Yep sure are, before the distributor was appointed I helped out by servicing a few bits of gear plus a couple of installations and the Emotiva Technical guys were a big help. Cheers Gary

Thanks for the discussion guys. I decided to buy the XSP-1 (done). Should be here Monday. Btw I'm driving an Acurus A2005 5ch HT amp 200w rms. Now the question is what AV processor if any. Has anyone used the oppo 203 transport with 5.1/7.1 outs? Would this work with the XSP HT pass through for fronts and directing into A2005 for C, SL, SR? OR do the MC-700 or 7703 for HT. Would it be better to do Oppo directly to amp or via he MC-700? I don't know if I need all of the hdmi switching from a HT processor, particularly one that doesn't have apps on board.

If you have a 203 then try it, some people really like it, for me it lacks punch, grunt, slam, impact etc. Not to be confused with loudness, it goes loud enough, it just doesn’t have what I call speed, it just seems a bit lazy, it gets there in the end but doesnt compare to having a pre amp in there. If you don’t want Atmos/DTSX then the MC-700 would be a good choice. The price performance ratio is good, and it doesn’t cost so much that you feel bad about replacing it in a few years when it’s technically made out of date. It’s only 4K that’s forcing me to think of upgrading the UMC-200, because it still sounds great. If you do want object based sound formats then it’s quite a price jump, even at the discounted price of the superseded 7703 or the new 7704. I found that price point psyched me into keeping the processor/AVR’s for longer than I really should, so I ended up with a poorer solution for longer. Cheers Gary

Well I almost bought a 7703 locally only a few months old as the guy is getting a 7704. Instead, I bought the mc-700 for 1/2 the cost and will look for another solution for bringing in digital music apps and the like and forgo height speakers.
