Emo peeps...how about an RMC-1 expansion module update. I want DIRAC first please...but when you get that sorted...I'd love two more XLR outputs for the 3 subs I'll be running. DIRAC bass management for all the subs would be amazing. The RMC1 has 3 balanced xlr outputs for subs Whats your main configuration? The way dirac bass management works for the new Arcams is you buy the license from dirac for the top tier .Emo posted this before Dirac changed the method to 2 tiers -

The way dirac bass management works for the new Arcams is you buy the license from dirac for the top tier .Emo posted this before Dirac changed the method to 2 tiers - I already own the RMC-1...I won't be able to use those 3XLR's for subs you see labeled as sub-outs in the pictures...I'll only be able to use the middle one...as the other two will be feeding my L and R HEIGHT channels. I'm doing a full 9.6.1 ATMOS setup in my theater (construction in progress right now) and I'm already using every XLR output the RMC-1 offers. End-State I'll be running 3 Dayton Audio Ultimax 18's powered by Crown XLS-2502 amps pushing 2400 watts into each sub. Right now I only own two of the subs so I'll be using an Emotiva XBAL1x2 XLR splitter to change the center sub output into two outputs to feed them. However, I would really like 3 dedicated XLR subwoofer outputs with full DIRAC bass management. to run 9.6.3.

Hopefully Emo will hurry with the modules ; last mention was the 4ch expansion module was being worked on 1st with the streamer; xlr in and a ?phono stage. So they know its importance .From what Keith has said and how dirac2.0 works you should get better bass management for 9.3.6 ; the Arcam method may be very similar as Dirac has said proprietary versions will be phased out in lieu of one size fits all going forward [ to speed up releases apparently]

I agree – being able to have a further two XLR outputs assigned to subs 2 and 3 would be really great but only if Dirac Live bass management is available. I am currently running a 9.1.6 system…but with 3 subs plus bass shakers fitted within our newly upholstered sofas.
In the absence of additional sub channels, I am adopting the following approach: Installation of 2 x DBX PA2 loudspeaker management processor, both driven from single sub channel out of RMC1. The first PA2 is responsible for driving subs 1-3, each on their own output channel, and each being subject to independent correction etc via the dbx software. The second PA2 handles the sofa shakers that I have, being driven by its own independent amp.
This allows me to control the tactile output separately from the subs, also facilitating sub-base synthesis for the shakers, which is really impressive.
The PA2 is limited in terms of SBS to all channels or none and if enabled for the subs, is simply too much, hence the decision to incorporate 2 x PA2, as opposed to just one. You could of course achieve the same result using a suitably configured multi-channel MINIDSP, but the overall price difference is not that great and the app interface for the PA2’s is really good.
Early days at the moment as I first have to get Dirac Live working properly on the RMC1. I will likely omit however to include the sub output on the RMC1 as part of the Dirac optimisation, to negate having two levels of serial processing taking place which might be detrimental to the overall effect that I am trying to achieve.
Hope this might possibly be useful to anyone else in the same position of having significantly more subs that RMC1 output channels at this moment in time.
BTW - The Emotiva sound absorbtion feet, in addition being great fitted to just about anything that you can are also great for replacing the standard feet that are fitted on the underside of sofas!

ZzZZZIs no news really good news? What’s happening here? Did you see the new, cool headphones? Edit: I actually have never seen this thread until you commented in it. I read the first few pages. It is eye-opening to see that we all still have the same questions 3 years later.

It's all vaporware until there is an "Add to cart" button on the web site. [/cynical hat] In the (more or less likely - you decide) case that there will never be any expansion modules for the RMC-1, will all buyers get $1000 back since they in effect just bought an RMC-1L then?

It is eye-opening to see that we all still have the same questions 3 years later. Seems there are some things that have hit the far back burner, quick money in pushing some headphone from a company that doesn’t have a line of them. Not a Sennheiser, Bose or Beats amongst many more that specialize in this genre. It’s a very different business from building amps and processors. Makes me wonder who actually manufactured the Airmotiv GR1. If they actually did the RR and manufacturing then God Bless them. But back to this topic, where’s the joy to fill the slots in the back of the RMC-1? 🦗 🦗🦗

A recent post in the RMC-1 thread says they are making good progress with the 4 channel expansion module, DLBM and DTS:X Pro. I don't want to get my hopes up but ohh do I hope that's true!

At least I took it that way. It doesn't seem like they are even discussing these things, much less actually doing them.

As it was hinted at some time ago, I expect the first module to be an additional pair of balanced inputs (why not two?), probably not high on most lists, but some have asked for them and it should have been easy.

Are there really no information about any of the promised Extensions? It was very quiet lately.

Not so much "quiet lately"
More like all quiet since the RMC-1 was announced 4 years ago with expansion slots specified. Audio definitely quiet. Emotiva delivering expansions? A few meek mentions
Thankfully I have an XMC-2, but unless Emotiva come up with something pretty useful and near to the scalable multichannel outputs they mentioned at the beginning, to save face they may have to rebate every RMC-1 owner who could have just bought an RMC-1L a cool $1000 because at the moment they have some very expensive room air in a box.

Hello all: I am also waiting for the expansion modules. If by January ending, no news regarding availability, I will not make a purchase. I have between 22 -26 speakers that are already in place. It is more than two years now. Thanks. George.
