Purchased an X800 on Amazon a few days ago ($199) for my son to replace a lesser Sony in his system. It plays to an HDMI input on his Denon AVR-3311CI and then an Denon HDMI ouput to a Samsung TV HDMI input. Hooked up no issues, but when I turned the X800 off (checked to make sure blu-ray was working OK; it was) it switched the Samsung to a different HDMI input than the one the Denon is hooked too. Did this every time after I discovered the problem.
I didn't have time to troubleshoot but going back soon. I'm guessing somewhere in either of the three units that HDMI Control, ARC, etc. is turned ON. I assume I want all OFF to prevent this from happening. I'l give it a try.

Russ Yep, that's how CEC works on my Samsung. Turn off one input and it switches to another, it also forgets that input and deletes it from the bottom of screen menu bar. Very frustrating . I'd like to turn CEC off but it needs to be on for ARC to work. Cheers Gary

Thanks Gary. My son does not use ARC so i’ll make sure CEC is OFF in the Samsung. Russ Unfortunately I have to use the ARC to get the AppleTV4K audio back from the Samsung to the UMC-200 as it only has the one HDMI out. Cheers Gary

this unit starts to have more problems like freeze, remote does not work...must unplug to restart/reboot to correct the issues. Today it won't send bit stream lossless audio codec like DTS HD Master 5.1 to UMC-1? It works a few weeks ago when I watched the same disc... Check the "Settings", for sending DTS HD Master 5.1 to my UMC-200 it needs to be on "Auto", not "PCM". "Auto" enables 2 way communication and so the UMC-200 can tell the X800 that it can decode DTS HD Master 5.1. Whereas if it's set on "PCM" it's 1 way communication so the X800 can't "hear" the UMC-200. Cheers Gary Thanks. it is always = Auto. I found out it is my bad as I turn "BD Audio MIX setting" = on, should be off
