I was very close to ordering a Bas-X S8 subwoofer until I got to the point where the website would not actually let me place an order. That's very disappointing, especially since the site provides prices in Canadian dolllars. And shipping via UPS to Canada is horrible, as they charge outrageous brokerage and processing fees (sometimes 30-50% of the value of the product!) Fedex or USPS are far better for shipping to Canada. Unfortunately I won't order from Emotiva until they take a look at this I bought a 6 channel XPA and they shipped it free, i just emailed one weekend and they got right back to me. Sales is quick to reply. BTW i live in the yukon.

Canada is eager to screw anyone buying items FROM Canada - Seems only fair to reciprocate with high tariffs on items going TO Canada. Canadians are wonderful people, but their country's policies toward foreign trade and foreign workers are yucky.

I apologize, guys - Didn't intend anything but a gripe... I'm still stinging from the preamp I bought from Canada and ended up paying some outrageous export tax (surprise!). Live and learn...

We get the same when we buy things not made in the usa ,the FTA only goes so far . If makes me mad when you all get things 30% or more cheaper than we can , shopping on Amazon.com they just plain wont ship many items though anything american made i can buy. Not only does our dollar suck so does our PM , in case you didnt notice i get a little emotional about these things and our PM who is a real joke and is selling us up the river.

I guess this 300% tarrif from Boeing on our Bombardier jets is just ... neighborly love, huh? money.cnn.com/2017/10/06/news/companies/boeing-bombardier-trade-ruling-tariff/index.htmlWhy is that some Americans are so blind to the sh** they can pull on other countries, but so quick to play the victim? It's mind boggling.

Im not familiar with the tarrifs an such but wht does 🇫🇷 Airbus charge? I'm not sure what you mean? Airbus is European, Boeing is American, Bombardier is Canadian. Bombardier has developed a new (small) airplane, and had sold 75 airplanes to Delta in the USA. Boeing got their panties in a twist and tried to stop the sale under a bogus "unfair competition" argument, it's bogus because Boeing doesn't even MAKE airplanes that small. They just don't want Bombardier growing into a larger company, so they're trying to shut them down as much as possible, hence the 300% tarrif.

Sort of like how the lumber that is made in Canada, I can actually pay less for it driving down to the US and purchasing it than I can get it for on the same side of the border where it is made

Thanks for the info, I was trying to inquire about what other countries do with Canadian trade. I haven’t a clue and need some education on that point. Txs again.

Canadians are wonderful people, but their country's policies toward foreign trade and foreign workers are yucky. Btw, it's also hilarious that you're blaming Canada for the costs associated of importing into YOUR country. What, you think we as Canucks just say: "Hmm, another American, lets slap an export tax on 'em"? Duty's and taxes are charged on importing, not exporting; Your governments sets the costs associated with that. So really, YOU are the ones screwing over Canadian companies if your import dutys and taxes are excessive, because you make it prohibility expensive to purchase goods and services from Canadian companies (it's a form of "protectionism", forcing Americans to buy American goods because it costs more (only due to dutys and taxes) to purchase from Canada/Mexico). It's ok though, I'll accept an apology from you on behalf of all Canadians.
