Sort of like how the lumber that is made in Canada, I can actually pay less for it driving down to the US and purchasing it than I can get it for on the same side of the border where it is made Don't forget the price of gas at the pumps! First we dig it up and ship it out to a refinery in the states, then import it as gasoline - though I feel most of that is the fault of our Gov't and taxes on gas there.

Hi copperpipe - I apologize if I offended you. It wasn't intended. And you're right, there's plenty of blame to go around on both sides of the border. But, ultimately, it comes down to "it shouldn't be like that." Canada & USA should be the closest allies in the world. And I wish it were so.

No offence at all, I have much thicker skin than that; that's why I used these things here: And you're right, we should have each other's back; and we mostly do, we are each other's biggest trading partners, after all, so we must be getting something right. It's the whole "Canada is screwing us in trade" thing that has recently sprung up in your country that is very odd though, ever since the nafta re-negotiations started. I think that narrative started from Trump, trying to make it look as if he is playing hard ball. The problem is that too many people are soaking it up without having a clue that they're being duped.

I recently purchased an XPA-2 Gen3 by contacting the sales department via e-mail. The way it worked for me was the Price that showed up as Canadian turned out to be the price USD with all taxes/duties/shipping included. May have been just fluke but its something to go by. While this may not seem "optimal", the amp arrived at my door quickly (no customs holdup ) and there were no Extra "surprize" charges. Overall I was happy with this as it was a quite painless and simple process.

And Canadian shipping on the site ?? or just going to have to call or email, it was really handy for us north of the border to order online and of course if possible USPS to Canada Post is cheaper for us in terms of not getting fees from FedEx, DHL and UPS. Riddle me this then. Why did the product disappear from the summit highfi website. I looked at this the other night when the guy posted it. It had prices, now it says email for price and availability. But the amp that the guy was taking about is still on the website.

Hi Jessica, can you please confirm the shipping carrier along with the specific service? Is a particular service contingent upon weight? For example, is the same service used for a single CMX-2 power strip as would be used for a pair of XPA-1 amps?
It’s important for us to know ahead of placing an order since many carriers charge additional fees upon delivery. That said, I believe UPS and FedEx expedited and express services are inclusive.
Thanks

I just purchased an XSP-1 pre-amp on the refurb sale and figured I'd share the experience here. Placed order Fri afternoon the listed price was 1470ish CAD ,added to cart then went to checkout.AT this point the price flips back to USD( 1070ish). Tried To use PayPal but got message from PP that " This merchant does not ship outside the US". Emo prob just needs to update there PP info. Switched to AMEX and all was fine again.
AT the shipping section you get 3 options, DLH is the free option, Fedex and UPS options cost but boast faster delivery. Also listed here is the duty and taxes for each service. I chose the free shipping and completed order.
Monday after noon got e-mail saying DLH picked up order in Tenn. Tues morning got update that package cleared customs and was with courier. At this point I had option to pay duty/taxes online to speed delivery. I chose to do this and wave signature( was home "sick" and don't hear doorbell from basement so was safe to drop at door). At checkout duty was listed at 139ish USD ended up at 200 CAD. This was at around 9am, Pre-amp was at my door at 11:05am . All and all a painless transaction and I was surprised how fast the free shipping was.

Yeah the V2 for $1100 is a great deal but no shipping, like why would you advertise on a national site than haha ridiculous. Well at least you got what you wanted so that's great news. Chad
