I find it amazing, the number of “where is it” posts SEEM to outnumber handily, the “take the time to get it Right” ones. Oh well 😔 anyway, I’m the tortoise and the hair guy, who just watched the DL YouTube showing this board being for RMC and XMC. If that’s the case it’s a huge longevity boost for a processor I’ve already had for over 3 and a half years..... I’ll wait. Bill I would have agreed with you on this maybe a year ago or two... At this point just release it with the known software bugs and let the community sort it out. Emotiva's budget can't afford the beta testing models of the big boys. Let's let people whom it works for enjoy it and those that it doesn't help with feedback. Can always update code/firmware afterwards. I guarantee you this will be the case regardless. They will find more bugs after release. Hit the button ship it.

I too am still on the "wait and get it right" campaign, however, with the deafening silence and extremely rare blurb, I've grown weary and have taken to humorous (in my opinion) and weak jabs at the obvious when the mood strikes me. I have posted in the past how communication, no matter how lame it may sound to some, is very important, but it needs to drip out on a consistent basis.
Thanks Jessica, but . . . three weeks from now, if nothing else has been said from E's side by anyone, and the board is still not out and about yet, then frustration sets in like throwing darts at a bullet proof glass dart board.
It's really, really, simple. One simple little Official Post a week, which is more than has actually happened. State the obvious. Not done yet, found some things to improve, changed some of the silk screen printing for better legibility, found a typo on the shipping label, yada. But it's "something" instead of nothing.
And I really was serious about the new thread thing once the board is out. Kinda like sorbet between courses.

If you think people are up in arms now, imagine what would happen if they released in, and suddenly everyone with a JVC projector ended up with a non-functioning theater. Or people started getting regular HDCP errors? Or audio dropouts? There's no way they would come out ahead if they followed a "release it knowing it's broken" model. I'm a little annoyed by the wait, but I recognize that's my impatience. If Emotiva knowingly messes up my theater, I'll be upset, and it would be 100% Emo's fault. I might grumble a little bit, but I'll wait it out.

I would love to see Emo do this. Pick one person to be the voice. I don't care who - Dan, Lonnie, Jessica, Nick, etc... - and on the same day each week, that person gives us an update. I run a moderate sized service organization within a much larger service organization for a large software company. With rare exception, almost every escalation I deal with is about poor communication, not the actual software issues. The best way to solve those communication issues is to agree to a communication cadence, and then stick to it.

What baffles me is. Why say 99.9% sure it’s comng out tomorrow. And then continue to test it??? I would NEVER say 99.9% (especially if I were infamous for blowing dates) unless it was boxed and ready to ship

But why say something THAT definitive unless it’s ready to go. If he said I’m 75% sure it ships tomorrow. Ok. I get it. That means more testing is needed. It is a very bad look

Bill Some of use are in the situation where waiting is in fact rather painful. Some of us have no processor at all because it's already at Emotiva waiting to be upgraded. Some of us have external circumstances that have a deadline (in my case that's delivered to me before 1st July) which has financial implications. Then there is the WAF that shouldn't ever be underestimated. For some it's not just a matter of impatience and wanting it now, there are costs involved in not having a definitive time frame. I think I made a mistake relying on "99.9%", which looks like it is going to cost me. Cheers Gary

That would be awesome, especially since Dan said in the last podcast he was going to do that for the rmc. Even if it was every other week it sure beats radio silence

At this juncture everyone's point has been made about the release and shipping date of the V3 board. Lonnie has spoken about what has caused the most recent delay. Continuing to point out what Dan has said, complaining about release dates and semantics isn't helpful either and won't get the board released any sooner. Unless you have something that adds value to this thread and the conversation then please refrain from posting.

And people complain when they communicate and they complain when they say nothing. Me personally, I want to know more about what's happening behind the scenes...!! If they communicate and then something goes south or changes, deal with it.
First world problems. 😀

I say we start a pool (Emo is welcome to supply a free upgrade) or everyone that bets on the release date chips in $10 and the winner/s gets the pot. Just something to make it interesting while we are patiently waiting.

What does "sure" mean? He chose not to use the word "confident."
Dude.Cmon. You know exactly what he meant. As far as me knowing what he meant, I haven't a clue. My comments to liv2teach are just a little jesting. I was going to devolve it into a discussion of what the "is" in "it's" is, but you've now ruined that. Lol... I was with you and thinking the same thing.

Hi everyone, To help clarify, please see Lonnie's recent comments about progress and status. Yes, on the 6th we were quite certain we had a sign-off, however, we found a bug at the last minute that had to do with a certain brand of projector ( I'm paraphrasing Lonnie), so we've been working on the bug, and then after that one cleared, another bug. We hope to have a sign off soon. We are working around the clock with our HDMI partner. We can't give a ship date until we have an all-clear, but it's very very close. Hi Jessica, Thanks for your clarification and update.... While I have your ear, (or eye in this case) perhaps I can ask a couple questions? 1. Is the RMC release dependent on the V3 board? Is it used in the RMC? I've heard two different opinions on this... 2. I'm not a software engineer any way shape or form...don't even pretend to understand it.... but I'm wondering if every time Emotiva performs a fix on a "bug" does that fix possibly create another bug in some other part of the program? Just trying to figure out if this is like trying to heard cats through and open door...one in, two out. Thanks, Skip

Just something to make it interesting while we are patiently waiting. The money holder could earn a good amount of interest if the release keeps getting put off....

Thanks, Skip Cleary I am not Jessica, but the HDMI V3 board being created for the XMC-1 upgrade is the exact same board that will be used in the RMC-1, thus why Emo is putting so much work into getting it right. There are other things (Sabre chips) that are also holding up the RMC-1 release so do expect the RMC-1 to come out as soon as the V3 board is ready, but the V3 board is vital to the RMC-1.
