I have a x900e and know all about the DV problems they have had through the updates. I wouldn’t count on DV support unless you have a x1 extreme chip. The x1 just doesn’t seem to have the power even though you may have 2.0b hdmi

It's a no go. The USB stick is not seen by the XMC-1, so no firmware update can be done. I posted in the Official thread so hopefully someone can help.

You know the Oppo is no longer being sold, right? Nooooooooooo . . . i didn't. OOPS! I waited too long. I knew this day was coming but thought it would be in a couple more months. Thanks for the bad news. I guess I'll just get a Panasonic or Sony then, just for the movies. Well, at least that'll save me some money! Bummer. this is not true. oppo just decided to not bring out new models in future. (new products) - the 203/205 are existing products.
Selling is available until end of 2018, and parts/warranty at least until 2020. this is the original text: As announced on April 2nd, 2018, OPPO Digital will gradually stop manufacturing new products. Existing products will continue to be supported, warranties will still be valid, and both in-warranty and out-of-warranty repair services will continue to be available. Firmware will continue to be maintained and updates released from time to time. Customers can rest assured that they will continue to receive the high quality service and support that they have come to expect from OPPO Digital. The following FAQ provides answers to questions that may arise from the announcement.

Sorry to say, but it is true. Not only will they not make a future model, they have already stopped manufacturing the current two. If you doubt this, go to Oppo's website and try to purchase one. They're not there. The best that one can hope for (if you really want one), would be to go to the support page where you'll find a button to sign up for " possible future availability". What this does is puts you on a list just in case a "refurbished" model becomes available. Maybe if they get enough interest, they could possibly do another production run, but that is highly unlikely. The last production run of either unit was completed May-June of this year with the UDP-205 being the last. The 203s are already gone and final shipment of 205s is due on-shore (I believe) in late July or early August. If you want a shot at one of those, you'd better get on the list. I did, and actually received an email to purchase one, but decided to opt-out and pass the opportunity along to someone who might want it more than me. I already have two 203s, so I'm good for awhile...

Some European Companies tried to take over the Player Dept. of oppo - but haven't heard anything since April. I'm very happy with my 203 - best Player so far.

Since I was in no hurry, as my display is not yet 4K, I had been holding off on the upgrade. Emotiva summoned my XMC-1 to Franklin to be upgraded late last week. I dropped it at UPS on Friday morning, and I received the message yesterday that it has been upgraded, firmware at 5.2, and tested, and is on its way home. According to the internets, it will arrive tomorrow. Not a bad service for $25.

What does 5.2 do and where can you download it? Not sure what it does. Some think it's 5.1 and 5.1a combined. Here is a link: emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/948593/thread

What does 5.2 do and where can you download it? Post #2 in the “Official V3 HDMI Board Thread”. HERE is a direct link to that post. 5.2 is version 5.1 with the 5.1a patch rolled into a single update file. If you’re already on 5.1a, there’s no need to update, but doesn’t break anything if you do. I will say that there are newer “builds” of 5.2 in existence, but do not fix any real issues. I do not expect to see any standing issues fixed until 5.3 is released.

At this point I don’t mind waiting 2 or 3 more weeks in order to get a fully functional board. But can’t stop thnking about the projector issue. If that’s true and the RMC-1 and XMC-1 share the exact same HDMI board, how the heck at Axpona they showed the RMC-1 sending full 4K HDR signal to a JVC RS4500? Which is not only a “projector”, it’s JVC and native 4K. I guess the problem is not the V3 HDMI board, rather a comunication issue between the new hdmi board and the XMC-1? Ding Ding Ding! Someone give this guy a prize. You hit the nail on the head. No worries though, we have isolated the issue, which is the first step. Now we just have to go through a couple million lines of code to resolve it. All hands are on deck and working to get it done as quickly as possible. Lonnie Wrong place, sorry
