I'm new to Roon. Just got a Raspberry Pi running RoPieee set up successfully which is attached to my XMC-1 via USB.
I need to know the best settings in Roon for both...
A. Tidal
and
B. For playing my library of FLAC and SACD rips stored on my Synology NAS
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bummer. Given how popular Roon is on here I was hoping for some sort of guide or recommendations.

Sorry... Should have clarified. I'm running the Roon Core on my desktop PC... Not my NAS

It's very easy - install the server software on your PC. I'd install the client there too so you can use Roon easily (you can remove it later if you want).
What problems are you having?

I've found that tweaking is not a good idea. The engineers at Roon have it configured well right out of the box.

Yes, what sort of "tweaking" are you thinking about? One of the reasons why Roon is better than LMS for me is it requires no tweaking.

Next question...
Buy the lifetime? Or yearly?

I'm a frugal (cheap) guy - I bought the lifetime because I LOVE the software, and I am seldom this impressed.

I bought the lifetime because I assumed I'd use it longer than 5 years.

I played it cautious and just payed for one year. I’ll decide in about 11 months for the future. So far so good. I love the sound, the ease, and the mega data. I only use it integrated with tidal. I do not have any cd copies or hi Rez downloads on a hard drive. I have the discs if needed and do not mind playing them on occasion. With the new wealth of available music through tidal I am a happy camper and am saving money in the long run.

mountain - it's "meta" data you really should rip your CDs to FLAC. dbPoweramp is your friend.

Not sure it's considered tweaking nor applicable to your question, but when adding devices to Roon, I usually set the "Volume Control Mode" to "Fixed Volume" and "Use Exclusive Mode" to "Yes". If the device is hooked up to a Mac, I also set "User Integer Mode if Supported" to "Yes".

One hint - you should always strive to see that beautiful purple light icon - shows that the audio is as pure as it can be
