Samsung service or replacement.....sorry but this is the answer No crashes since I took the suggestion that the air vents may be clogged and I blew out the furr balls! LOL Samsung service on a 4 year old TV? Maybe Purchase a new TV will require somebody manufacturing a top of the line 4K / 3D 65” or larger. Maybe when Cameron films the sequel to Avitar. Ijust dont know how much it costs to incorporate 3D into a TV but I really don’t think the format is going anywhere, at least not in the theater. People still love seeing 3D at the movies and you can purchase all 3D movies via Amazon.UK.Com , but not here in the states. The ramble will now stop,,,,,,,,😁 OOPS.....My bad, thought you were still winking out (guess that was Boom) We still love 3D in this household, I simply ignore any talk about it being dead or going away (I mean titles just keep coming), so..... I found your posts here interesting because a defective Samsung flat screen is how I got into 3D in the first place. I got sold on salespeople telling me it was a gimmick, that it would go away, you know, all of that stuff. Then, when my Samsung started shutting itself off, Samsung replaced it out of warranty at no cost to me. The replacement that most closely matched my bad set just happened to be 3D, and since then, I've collected something like 20 titles, and 4 pair of glasses. And we still pay at the theater, the extra 7 bucks if there is 3 D there also. Watched Man of Steel the other night in 3D. Besides Avatar, that is one of my favorites, and a GREAT story with Kevin Costner, before they beat the franchise to death. Bill

Yes, there are a few more movies already in the pipeline that will come out in 3D, but after that, the party's over. 3D was one of those things that folks either loved or hated. You and novisnick are in the former group, but the majority of consumers seem to be in the latter. The reasons were many - difficulties in fitting the 3D specs over one's own prescription glasses, battery life, headaches, and in some cases nausea. Plus, the pictures had wildly varying implementations of 3D - some looked fantastic, but many didn't. In any case, I wish you well! No sense in dumping movies you like and already own in 3D just because no new ones are coming out. Enjoy! Cordially - Boomzilla

The only 3D movie I enjoyed (for 3D effects) was Polar Express

(Last time I checked, folks do revisit their collection for continued repeat enjoyment.) Not everyone gets seasick or ends up with a headache. It will be a long time indeed before 3D disappears, and work on the technology that makes it work WITHOUT glasses is still in progress. Bill

I’d like to thank everybody that gave me any feedback on this problem. It seems that a good burst of canned air blown through the vent holes in the rear of my TV has cured my problem. I haven’t had a randum shutdown since I utilized the suggestion given.
Thanks to all!
🤐 Now I’m going to zip it as to not jinx myself.

I have not read this complete threat, but an FYI- If your LCD monitor (computer or HDTV) power supply dies- no power LED or dead, most times it's a capacitor in the power supply. I found a company that assembles a re-cap kit for many brands of power supplies. I've fixed probably 10 monitors for friends by just installing these kits with no further work. Since I no long have an O'scope my troubleshooting is limited. So for $9-12, it's a great first shot. I had a PS that was not on their list, so I sent them photos of the board & they built me a kit for FREE. (it added to their available options) The capacitors are usually better than the stock parts. lcdalternatives.com/btw- cleaning out dust & dirt in electronics is always the first step in trouble shooting. (even fixed a crashing pc by just blowing it out)
